  1. vectra is good car  we have opel vectra b 1.6 elegance also 98 felicia glx (we call vauxhall Opel in Turkey) diffrent tastes different pleasures for sure
  2. thank you Phil recognize it now so i still recommend the same for problem
  3. im assuming the favorit in this topic is not fuel injected when i wrote about dizzy here in Turkey you cant find one single favorit with fuel injection all of them are carburated (jikov lekr 28-30)
  4. its probably caused by rotor in the distributor.(or distributor itself) i use LPG converted 1.3 felicia with carburator fueling and its very sensitive when it comes to ignition system thus i experienced so many situations. this summer when i press accelerator it began misfiring under load and a little firecrack sound probably from center exhaust side. from the experiences i thougt it was from spark plugs but after a good diagnose i found that the reason was rotor arm.
  5. yes i have lpg conversion Here in Turkey most of the felicia owners(also others) converted their cars to LPG because of very very high gasoline prices. i have 1.3l 43kw engine not a fuel injected one so its very easy to convert a lpg system. my tank is 40liter located in spare tyre place in the trunk. so i can use evrey part of my trunk like before. in sequential gas injection systems LPG ecu acts as a piggyback unit also some brands are capable of acting like standalone. they pick up the injection pulse from gasoline injectors process it and use this for triggering LPG injectors simultaneously. changeover between LPG and gasoline is very smooth practically you can not feel it. cold start is always with gasoline the changeover occurs when coolant tempreture reaches an adjustable value in lpg ecu. at that point gasoline injectors are no more triggered but their pulse is used by lpg ecu to calculate the lpg injcetors pulsewidth. closed loop lambda control and any other sensor outputs are monitored by stock engine ecu any corrections simultaneously used by lpg ecu. stock ecu always thinks that engine is running with gasoline, so no problem in theory the most common problems here in Turkey is about workmanship. and the other one is calibration settings. if there was a calibration or workmanship problem usually emission control lamp came up. if you ignore it and continue using the car sometime later stock engine ecu changes the Long Term Fuel Trims. so it becames a problem to coldstart the car.(because LTFT values learned LPG based but engine coldstarts with gasoline) for your spi felica its not DIY able in my opinion you need old system like in my felicia. single point systems are also tend to backfire from intake manifold so anyway i know my english writing skills are not so good but i think you now have some idea about sequential lpg injection.
  6. can you inform me a little more about changing them without removing the cover for cam followers ?
  7. yes i think it can be done. Because rev counter was a very cheap optional equipment in Türkiye. i remember services easily changed the big clocks in LX versions with GLX rev counters a year ago i took apart the instrument cluster. maybe pictures help for something Felicia ön konsolun sökülmesi-gösterge tamiri vs..
  8. no no i've already changed the timing chain and sprockets sorry for misunderstanding. i mean it never overheated , never opened the cylinder head for a gasket or lineer change. engine is still original from factory just keep working fine with regular maintenace. thanks for your suggestion
  9. hoops forgot to say its 1998 facelift felicia with jikov carburated 1.3 engine (135L 43kw)
  10. Hi to all from Turkey I have noticed that when starting from stone cold (and also from warm when standing for minimum of approx. an hour) the oil pressure warning light takes a good 5 seconds to estinguish i'm using 20w 50 castrol GTX, car is in very good condition and well maintaned but i'm really worrying about oil pump gears.. odometer shows ~ 153.000km and never opened engine for a repair instead of valve clearence adjustments for 11 years .. any suggestions welcomed
  11. Hi mate two years ago i've changed my chain in a garage. i was bought the set from a dealer and especially told them my car is facelift one with 1.3 carburated engine.(just like favorits in Turkey) nonetheless in garage we realised that crank side sprocket is wider in diameter than original crank sprocket which came from factory. there was a noticable offset which forces chain to move sideways. with the help of vernier caliper we have found that crank sprocet only worn 0.01 mm. so we decide to use it again. hope yours is correct part. may be its a chain kit for favorits
  12. it'll be a strange idea but you may try to heat up the timing chain and sprocets in oven and try to install it again using a pair of gloves ?
  13. 2.4 ~ 2.5 liters needed dont over fill. may leak or act like retarder and force engine not to run as free as it need underload
  14. SAE EP 80 API GL4 is just what you need for it. thus straight 80 is ok. but check for extreme pressure (EP) and API GL4 signs.
  15. last year i solve a vibration problem, it was caused by lower alternator mounting. check for it. it makes resonance just around 3000rpm also it may effect your tachometer.
  16. Cepheuz i'm looking your messages and trying to figure out whats going on actually with your engine in my opinion you need an engine overhaul at least a head rebuild.. believe me.
  17. Hi Tom i have some other pictures about wirings hope they are noticable. ImageShack - Image Hosting :: feliciadiag.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5240/flx1.gif
  18. there is no washer under the engine which needs renewing. its only a metric 14 sized cap
  19. its possible to fix the barrel. mine barrel was also collapsed, its medium hard DIY job the most complicated step is loosening the security screws they have no patterns of any screw drivers or sockets moreover they are surrounded by aluminum casing thus you cant grab them with pilers. the way for loosening that screws is to breaking off some aluminum and open a small window around each screw and tipping with sharp pointed material like nail. after that its very easy. in my opinion the problem depends on cover of key hole. you know there was a little cover which prevent dust or something entering mechanism. there is very important thing to remember ! if this cover mechanism collapsed and caused that problem and if you fix it in my way, steering wheel locking mechanism will be active anytime you turn the key all way to left(position 0) not after taking the key out.
  20. factory fitment fuel injection is good thing. i saw some carburated favorit and felicia 1.3 engines with turbocharging systems. basicly a exhaust manifold for turbocharger, some piping job to a little intercooler than a fully closed tig-welded metal box for carburator.. boost is controled from westgate acutator.. also LPG mixer can be mounted just over the turbo intake housing and engine will able to run with lpg  no EGT and AFR monitoring just for fun for some couple of kilometeres . but on the other hand i beleive that ~ 150 - 160 hp is possible with this little 3 main beared crankshaft. pistons and piston liners are cast iron and looks durable. don't know so much about rods and crankshaft. but it looks that capable of pushing out ~160 hp. a good standalone ecu or smt6 like piggyback units for fueling. a egt probe and wideband lambda probe for inspecting runing conditions will need in my opinion.
  21. its easy with alarm. i'm using aftermarket alarm with so many functions since 2003.
  22. sure im running my felly with LPG conversion for two years maybe it helped. because there was not so much residues it was too easy to clean it however i decided to use an old tooth brush but it doest needed at all
  23. hi interesting topic here :p my first phone was Ericsson GH388 than a gf788e after that 3310 than an ericsson again... the T65 stardust yellow nokia 6600 tried nokia 6101 for a while than gived it to my mother and now using a nokia 6300 and 6600 together can't do without symbian
