  1. .....a touch of coolant in the oil, showing on the dipstick, only showing 5% on the dipstick. Head gasket is on the way out I suspect
  2. I get my batteries from Advanced batteries in Bredbury and looking at their batteries, priced at circa 60 quid. And they last about 6 years give or take. Perhaps you will have a similar supplier in your area
  3. thanks Mike....wow!!!! Steep prices. I'm used to paying 50 quid give or take for my 70s-90s fleet
  4. ....the 1Z5 model with a 1.8 BZB engine. Autodoc states my Octy is a 1U5 😁
  5. coolant leak 320.mp4
  6. can't tell where it is coming from on the turbo side (bzb engine)..I have footage but it is more than 10MB
  7. As a hobbyist mechanic,I am aiming to do the timing chain and tensioner, and water pump aswell as the thermostat. Are there any decent kits out there? thanks Paul
  8. Is there a free diagnostics tool to download for the BZB engine in my Octavvy?
  9. 😂 hello everyone. Yes I must be mad,I have bought a Skoda 😁....just kidding. I have bee looking fo an estate for a while, and this 1.8tsi Octavia came up for sale. I do prefer Classic cars as they don't need any coding when replacing parts,or no diagnostics. I lean mainly to Ford. I do all my repairs, welding engine rebuilding and so on. thanks Paul
