  1. I've had frequent disconnects or refusing to connect at all, since upgrading to IOS 10 (iPhone 5s). It worked flawlessly up until the IOS upgrade. I have since upgraded to 10.1.1 but unfortunately that hasn't resolved the issue.
  2. It is on mine, as long as the cruise control is switched off. Otherwise it displays the set cruise speed there.
  3. The centre console storage box is just underneath the USB port. You only need a short cable.
  4. I ordered a set too . I must lock my credit card away in future when reading this forum!
  5. Did you manage to pull it off without breaking any clips ? I was cautious of using too much force as I didn't want to damage the airbag either. I have the cable tucked in but I'm not too happy with it. As you say, it was easy on the MkII
  6. Thanks - yes it may be down to cable thickness alright. I might see if I can source a lighter cable.
  7. Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere - I've searched and found the question asked before but without an answer. Does the trim for the passenger side A Pillar come off (RHD car) ? It was simple enough to remove on the O2, but reasonable force doesn't seem to work now. I want to pass a cable down from a dashcam to the fuse panel. I've managed to tuck it in behind the trim so far, but I'm not that happy with it as the trim won't sit back as flush as it should be. I could do a neater job if the trim could be removed...
  8. It's covered by Fuse 34 I believe : TCS, ESC button, tyre control display, pressure sensor for air-conditioning, reverse light switch, interior mirror with automatic dimming, START-STOP button, telephone preinstallation, control for heating of rear seats, sensor for air-conditioning, 230 V power socket, sport-sound generator
  9. I timed mine on the way home. It came up to temperature quicker than I was expecting. 3km, or 11 minutes in traffic to get up to 90 deg. Ambient was 5.5 degrees so not too cold to start with. There was warm air coming from the vents in under 3 minutes though.
  10. How does that work ? I also noticed the warm air long before the engine warms up compared to the O2 (it's great!). I thought it was just a slow thermometer dial.
  11. That's the sort of issue that drove me mad with the 0801. You really need to be able to install it and forget about it. The great thing about the mini series is they are discreet, and can be left in place without attracting attention from thieves. I had mine installed nearly a year before the wife noticed it was there! I'd happily spend more on a brand name camera if it was this size. Please let us know if you do solve the problem with the 0805.
  12. Just wondering did you go ahead with this ? I had the Mini 0801 for the last couple of years. It has its problems with reliability (especially flaky if you have audio record switched on), but I believe this is supposed to have improved with the 0805.
  13. Kids will be kids. I'll keep them out of the car until the fumes have died down. I'm sure Scotch Gard won't be the only chemical to be found in the car in any case.
  14. Yes, that's the one. Thanks for the advice :-) Unfortunately a garage isn't an optiion. Maybe I'll wait until a dry weekend so I can leave the windows open during the day.
  15. Thanks both. I'll mask it off to be safe. I hadn't thought of using a fabric protector until the dealer offered to rob me for applying one before I took delivery. Scotch Gard is not that expensive to buy online so I'll do it myself.
  16. If you plug the phone in via the USB socket and connect to Smartlink, I believe it supercedes BT for that phone. But if you don't use the cable you should be able to connect via Bluetooth. Works fine on mine (iPhone 5s), and the car is also one week old... Edit: I'm using Amundsen, but I don't think that should make a difference
  17. Hi, I bought some Scotch Gard to protect the half-leather seats on my new RS. On the can it says it is suitable for use on leather and fabric, but is not suitable for plastic or artificial leather. So, question is, is the leather in the seats from a real cow or a plastic one ? I'm just wondering if I have to mask it off before spraying...
  18. What problem are you having with it ? I've tested it with my iPod Classic 160GB connecting via USB to the Amundsen, and it seems to work okay via the media menu. I haven't left it connected for a proper test yet though.
  19. Thanks folks, I think I'll resign myself to using google maps on desktop wherever possible. I had a search on some VW forums and they suggest no decimal units supported on the VW equivalent system either. It's too fiddly to be switching between maps and converters on the phone. Or I can use the phone for navigation if I'm stuck.
  20. Thanks for that. I stumbled across it yesterday but couldn't get it on the phone app, or maps used on phone browser. You could choose which method to input on the Garmin. I take it it's not an option to change on the Amundsen then?
  21. Hi all, I've just traded my 2008 Octavia II vRS PD170 Combi with 230,000km on the clock in for a new vRS TDI Combi in race blue. Delighted with it so far! It's quiter, has more toys and definitely feels like an upgrade. A quick question - I opted for the Amundsen unit for satnav, but here in Ireland we don't use postcodes that it (or any other unit) knows about! So to find a location I am used to looking it up a location on google maps first, and then taking the longitude/latitude from there to enter it on satnav (I was using Garmin up until now). By default google maps gives you this info in decimal degrees rather than degrees, minutes, seconds. Is it possible to change the latitude/longitude input to accept decimal degrees on the Amundsen ?
  22. I've changed mine a few times now (they don't last as long as "normal" bulbs!). This happened me a couple of times too. The light assembly should sit between two guides on the bottom when you are slotting it back in. If you miss one of them, it rides on top of it and also won't go flush on that side. It's all down to getting the angle right when guiding the assembly in. It's a bit awkward if the harness is still connected, but I couldn't release the connector in my case as it was so tight.
  23. Sure did. Was that you Gaff by any chance directly behind me at the toll plaza on the M50 the other morning ?
