MK3.5 RS brake upgrades OEM MQB
Mate, you absolute legend! Thanks for the advice, what do you mean by (May need modifying)? They need cutting in places or is it a case of re-drilling certain holes? Out of curiosity, do you know the model year/chassis designation they come from? What size wheels do you roll with those? At current, I have 18" and would prefer to keep them for the added comfort of the extra tire profile, but if needs be, would look at swapping them out.

Fellaaaaaaahhhs!
Hello! Bought my Skoda Octavia RS TDI last year and now looking at modifying it. the other half is modifying the Mini, and it's beginning to make the Octy look a little underwhelming, so Figured I'd sign up here for help, tips, advice, and to share progress, various odd finds, and other information that I come across. This car is also a little bit of a project for me. I want to modify it both performance wise (I'm aware my options are heavily limited with it being a TDI) and cosmetically, but I'm aiming for an OEM+ look both internally and externally - I want to avoid the stereotype of having ramraided my local Halfords, so will mostly be using parts from other MQB platform vehicles, parts from Super Skoda (Kopacek), and occasionally, parts for completely different vehicles that have been modified to fit. I'm based in the East Midlands of the UK, near the city (replace the C with SH) of Milton Keynes, always looking for local car groups to join and do things like coffee meets etc. The car itself has a chequered service history, and is having a few issues so between it and myself, have a very on/off or love/hate relationship, but as much as it likes watching me perform open wallet surgery I do intend on having it looked after properly and taken care of and I'm already painfully aware of the potential pitfalls of this - Ask me how I know how sensitive the DSG box is to oil changes and what happens when it doesn't get them at the required intervals! Lol Looking forward to being part of the Briskoda community and sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for these cars!

MK3.5 RS brake upgrades OEM MQB
Hey all! Looking at upgrading my 2019 Octavia RS front brakes, but wanting to do it using OEM MQB parts as I don't feel like spending over £3000 on a big brake aftermarket kit. What vehicles can I swap front (and even rear?) brakes from? I want something around 356mm or the largest I can get inside 18" or 19" rims, and what other supporting parts would I need to make this happen such as carriers etc? From what I understand and have gathered so far, I can use brakes from: Audi TT RS 8J (+ Carriers) (min. rim size ?) Audi S/RS3 8V (+ Carriers) (Min. rim size 18) MK7/7.5(?) Golf R (+ Carriers) (Min rim size 18) 2017 Porsche Macan (+ Carriers) (Min. rim size ?) Is my info correct, am I missing any other cars? Help and advice appreciated! I'd also like to get a list of all the compatible parts, put them into a nice table (sexy excel spreadsheet!) and have it shared for everyone, so anyone can instantly see OEM alternatives that would display MQB compatible swaps, extra parts required, brake disc sizes (I'm aware some cars came with multiple brake sizes, such as some S/RS3's and TT's), minimum rim sizes required, and any other information required that would be relevant. Basically, the other half has a Mini JCW with absolutely ginormous brakes. Parked next to my Octy, it makes the brakes look anaemic and I'm not having that! Lol. Brakes are also due for replacement soon as they haven't really got much meat left in them, so would like to buy an upgrade now, rather than buying new discs and pads, and essentially burning that money by upgrading. Cheers in advance guys!
