  1. Just a quick update. Spoke to my local Skoda garage today and even the very helpful gentleman was toiling a little to discern which replacement part number was correct for my vehicle (there were 3 different options on his system). Finally nailed it down to the most recent design applicable for my car (fan part number 5Q0 121 203DE). At £820, he recommended i look to the forums for help on where I might find a sensibly priced replacement. After all that, I have ordered a new assembly (checked all the louvres on the frame were correct as well) for £120 😁 Note, I also disconnected the PWM signal wire from the current assembly just to confirm it continues to run and this is indeed the issue before i ordered a new one. Hopefully have it all fitted within the next week, I'll report back. Thanks again to the forum resources for tracking down various manuals and a couple of useful youtube videos.
  2. Thanks. I've been trawling quite a few different sites (LLIparts, Autodoc, Alvadi) and they list a multitude of parts that may or may not be compatible. They have both 2 wire and 4 wire fans that they say are compatible with my vehicle 🤦‍♂️ I managed to get a part number from the existing fan assembly but when I put it into the autodoc website the picture looks right but it says its not compatible with my vehicle. Only compatible with Audi and VW.
  3. Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me identify the correct part required for my 2015 Octavia Estate 2.0TDI vRS 184bhp ( I believe it's the CUNA engine?). The cooling fan starts running as soon as the engine is started even when cold, and runs constantly until a few minutes after switching engine off. My local garage has had a look, and reckons it's a fault with the fan controller ( built into the actual fan i think?), but they were quoted circa £650 for a complete fan/shroud/frame replacement. Diagnostics say the ECU is telling the fan to switch off, but it just keeps running at high speed. I have done a fair bit of scrolling, and it seems I may be able to replace just the fan with built-in controller for circa £90, but hoping someone can confirm this and possibly offer a part number 😬 It definitely only has 1 large fan, not the 2 fan arrangement. Part numbers visible on the frame are 5Q0 121 205 AD, and 5Q0 121 207 AM, but I am struggling to find an exact match available or figure out which fan goes into this assembly. Cheers Penfold
  4. Hi all, New member to the forum, I have browsed before and found some of the threads very useful when diagnosing issues with my 2015 Octavia VRS. Looking forward to engaging with the helpful community. Thanks Penfold
