Hi , I was here as a member a few years back but like we all do i changed cars hence i why i left here. Over the years ive had various cars inc VW's , seats , skoda's , infiniti , etc I have recently purchased a Skoda Karoq 1.5 tsi Scout 4x4 and im very happy with it. II do have a few things id like to mention. 1 My seat dealer said the haldex needed to be serviced but that its only an oil change perform, but i see many other owners taking out the haldex pump and cleaning the plastic filter inside as well as replacing the rubber O rings and the filling / draining bolts. I asked if they could take out the pump and clean it but they wanted to charge me more. ? looks like ill be going to an independant transmission specialist. 2 I wanted to refit my dashcam using using a nextbase hard wiring kit but the fuse box is behind the glove box . It doesnt look that easy trying to push back the retainers on each side of the glove box lid to gain access to the fuses....dumb design. 3 On my previous yeti the fuel flap release actuator failed , looking at the karoq im amazed to see there is no emergency release if the actuator fails.. 4 I was was told my timing belt needs to be replaced soon at a cost of over £1000 !!!!!. This madness ..my local garage cant do it for me as it requires a special tool to lock the cams ....the tool costs £1400 ? so it seems the Skoda dealers have us over a barrel. 5 Finally one last issue , a friend told me that all older Skodas and VWs had to have the coolant reservoir changed due to a silca gel bag being put in that over time bursts ?? I looked at my coolant bottle and theres nothing to identify whether i need to change it or not...no coolant type or silikat written on the outside.....ive included a pic .. Would love to hear what other members think ?
