Afternoon all, I recently replaced the headgasket on a 2014 octavia vrs, using the following manual for torque settings. https://octaviaclub.cz/dilenska_prirucka_skoda_octavia_3_2013_2014_tdi_eng_aj.pdf (Page 93 of manual, 101/432) However, after I finished the job, I was a bit horrified when i found a newer edition of a workshop manual for an ea288 engine that quoted different torque specs for the head bolts. https://www.scribd.com/document/653708700/4-Cylinder-TDI-Engine-2-0-Ltr-4-Valve-Common-Rail-EA-288-Gen-I#page=99 (Page 92 of manual, 100/364) The torque setting i used were: 30NM - 65NM - 90° - 90° The torque settings in the newer edition I found are: 30NM - 70NM - 90° - 90° - 90° Given the absence of a third 90° turn in the procedure i followed, i am obviously a bit concerned. Would anyone else who has replaced a head gasket on these ea288 engines be able to comment on which head bolt torque settings you used or if there is a reason for the two different specs. Thanks in advance.
