  1. Hope these experiences are helpful. 1) Noticed water in spare boot well - with lots of water in the seal itself. This would squirt out of the factory made holes in the seal if you squeezed the seal. Leaking was intermittent and seem to be related to whether it was windy as well as rainy. 2) Changed 5th door seal for OEM seal - didn't help 3) Read this website! 4) Got a hole punch used for leather 5) Made two holes underneath the existing holes in the seal so the water in the seal could drain out and specifically, drain outside the car 6) Result: the seal still gets wet in the grove between the two sides of the seal but does not flow into car spare wheel well. The inside of the seal is still wet, but it does drain away effectively. 7) So far, there have been several storms and this work-around works! 8) One of the photos shows one of the holes I made
