  1. UPDATE: the reversing camera installed without a hitch, and the only issue was threading the cable up the rear metal channel next to the rear screen. Sorted with a coat hanger and electrical tape on the tip. Shims cut from a plastic card to poke in the palstic clips to release the rear handle. Plectrums would work too but strips better. Cable threaded underneath the side airbags, properly so that safety not compromised. MIB2 unit was a tricky sod to remove until I realised the DIN removal keys were used for the DIN unit too. THey were fiddly to get out once locked in but with a squeeze it all worked. Anyway, THUMBS UP for the SinoSmart reversing camera kit, 560GBP saved! https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/537246-din-unit-out/#comment-5990480 GB
  2. Ended up using F26(ACC/yellow) and F44(LIVE/red). Tested with a DMM and the original fuses were both live. All's well that ends well.
  3. It's the two DIN key removal holes! NOT a pry/trim tool of any sort. Anyway, the #Sinosmart kit works. Connections at the back of the LCD display can be a little tempremental, but a solid push makes it all good again Routing the video cable around the left B-pillar - requires careful use of fingers to route below and behind the airbag which deploys down and outward. This can be felt only, even use of a borescope reveals limited detail, only that the airbag is present along the interior ceiling rather than the left B-pillar. Also, when routing the cable up the rear-left of the rear screen, a wire coathanger is readily available and works as a tool to poke then pull the attached yellow-ended video wire, but the pointy end MUST be wrapped in electricians tape or it will scuff the inside water-repellent coating of the metal.
  4. Any ideas on how to remove the DIN unit from behind the dash? I've struggled for an hour while trying to fit the reversing camera kit. It's held firmly, I can't seem to lever it out, despite sliding an assortment of plastic ice scraper and trim removal tools. Searched a thread on here which shows the same unit and a tool used but I cannot seem to work out how to acheive it. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/448440-fabia-mk3-2016-stereo-removal-instructions/ Can't seem to find explicit detail on what is securing it, but neother can I see any screws. It would logically be a slide-fit-latch but I can't see any of those either. TIA GB
  5. Answered it myself!, Fuses, 6, and 12, from this site: https://fuse-box.info/skoda/skoda-fabia-mk3-nj-2015-2018-fuses-diagram F6 is RED F12 is YELLOW
  6. Looking to hardwire the Viofo dashcam HK3 hardwire kit, it's got 3 wires, a red, a yellow and black. Would anyone be able to help me decipher the locations to place the wires? It's got a spade terminal on the BLACK('Ground') and RED('battery+') and YELLOW ('ACC'). Do I push wires in, or do I get some sort of fancy rectangular double spade connector and solder then insert that, for (red) and (yellow)? Also, where would be a good grounding point to screw the BLACK to? Thanks in advance! Greg
  7. Been looking at one of these, and a little confused which to get! https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000230897829.html Any tips? I've got the head unit that has Android Auto. Thanks in advance! GB
  8. Heyho! (5Q0 035 842B, MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0353T) update needed, got the Fabia today! Doesn't look doable without dealer! All help welcome for a noob, my first car, and in my 50s! Cheers m'dears! GB
