  1. I can look before scrapping and you can have it for postage.
  2. I'm afraid not...!!! Both front windows are siliconed up...hehe
  3. Well the wiring from ECU to sensor checks out. No shorts. Looks like the scrapyard, what a shame.
  4. That means it must be something else...!!!
  5. When I bought the car 3 years ago the engine light and glow plug would sometimes flash for a while and then go away. Happened when the engine was revved fast (wife driving...!!!) OBD said speed sensor so I changed the cam and the garage the crank sensors two years ago. No change. Sometimes the lights came on but they always went away again after a while. One month ago car just wouldn't start one morning. Apparently it had felt like missing a beat every now and then. I never felt it. OBD said speed sensor so I changed cam and crank sensors three weeks ago. No change with cam but a little life in the tacho for a handful of tries when crank changed. Managed to get a new 'IMMO off' ECU last week but no change at all. Thnking now wires or reluctor ???
  6. Not sure about those numbers to be honest. The car worked well until it stopped and both sensors were less then two years old. With the garage putting in the crank and myself the cam. I wonder if the ring on the crank is broken and I just haven't seen it. Very strange how a hint of life started with the new sensor and then nothing at all.
  7. I remember when I changed the crank sensor a few weeks ago the tacho showed some life for a whilst but erratic. Still no firing and then it stopped responding at all. I used an inspection camera when the sensor was out and the reluctor ring I could see looked fine. I’ll check the wires tomorrow and see if my OBD reader can see RPM when cranking. Thanks again for all the help.
  8. I’ll brave the freezing weather tomorrow and have a look. As of now Pin 3 ground, Checked Pin 1 and 2 10Kohms with ECU Is it not strange no speed sensor error code with the sensor unplugged ?
  9. That was what started the investigation, now I’m back :) The VIN is TMBJK Please don't share your VIN openly. Either pm @Breezy_Pete or he can pm you. Thanks, Admin.
  10. Next step maybe testing the voltage at the ECU…….oh well. Thanks for all the help gents, appreciated.
  11. 2.5V at the crank sensor plug and earth is good. Unplugged the sensor and cranked the engine. But no error codes. I wonder if the 2.5V is what it should be. I had the same with the original ECU.
  12. Ah no, sorry. Just normal cranking with a healthy battery :)
  13. Thanks. I'll give it a go. The battery good though and spins the engine like mad.
  14. Glow plug lights as expected. All lights come on dash as expected. Tested (all good) the relays behind the fuse box. Changed them anyway. Fuses are good. If the injector harness is kaput would that show as an error code ?
  15. Thanks gents, I'll have a look. At least the immobiliser light never comes on and I can talk to the ECU.
  16. Yoda the Skoda just decided not to start one morning. I did some troubleshooting and gave it to the garage but no joy. They suspected the ECU. So before scrapping any ideas would be muchly appreciated. 2007 Fabia 1 1.4 TDi 1) Cranks fine, just no hint of firing. Tacho does not move when cranking. 2) Diesel going in and out of filter 3) Swapped Crank and Cam sensors (had previously read error codes) 4) Swapped to a re-programmed IMMO OFF ECU but no difference 5) No fault codes stored. Any help and ideas very much appreciated. Regards Fergus
  17. Looks like the sensor itself may not be a problem as no more error codes after the memory being cleared. Probably something else...uh oh.
  18. Thank you very much for that. My engine code is BNM so I must be looking at the top option which is new to me...!!! I haven't been able to get my hands on a wiring diagramme but reckon I need to learn how to test the circuit again now....
  19. Hello there, My engine (1.4TDi Fabia 1 2007) won’t start and the OBD says no crankshaft sensor signal. Troubleshooting shows at the disconnected plug:- Earth is good Sensor has good ohms Signal and power both have 2.5V…!!! but 2.9V when cranking. No continuity between power and signal. Any ideas, is the ECU toast ? Thanks for all help.
