  1. Yep that has crossed my mind. However it's a back pressure problem now. To be honest I would've thought plonking a lower milage engine. Would've been a cheaper route
  2. I honestly can't believe my luck. I bought an Octavia TDI 2013 vRS with 200k. I noticed it was using a litre of oil a week then the P0299 underboost was constantly flashing. Seeing this was constantly happening and there was no signs of oil leaks I took it to a garage. I was told it was most likely the turbo due to the oil leaking loss of power so £1200 priced to install the turbo. After nearly 4 weeks I was told today that the new turbo only boosts fully if the 02 sensor is removed. Now I'm being told the DPF must be fully blocked causing back pressure. Soot readings are about %25 I thought this guy had Vcds software but he doesn't. He asked if the DPF was disabled. I told him I have no clue. So now I'm waiting for his mate who's more experienced and has the correct software. I could be looking at a new dpf or have the contents removed. Anyone that could advise me what else I should be asking or looking for to resolve this would be great. Im currently renting a car while this is being done and I it's breaking the bank. Cheers Stu
  3. This may be the problem. I can't really feel a leak but can hear a slight hissing sound.
  4. Hi Just an update, I still haven't figured out what's causing the issue I'm going to get some more logs. Here's some screenshots of some logs earlier. I noticed someone had repaired the PCV Hose from the Turbo Housing to the Crank Case Cover
  5. I've got some Torque logs including boost, fuel, maf etc the output is excel. I can't make no head nor tail from it. I'll up load the log but can change it later today. Thanks for your suggestions.
  6. 😂 no worries mate. It was my Boss the introduced me to Skodas he's had probably 5 Octavia's. I'm older now and hopefully will learn from my lessons from before. I installed the largest bolt on the WRX could have. Forced Performance FP RED. I had a stand alone ECU, Used big port JDM heads, 2.5 bottom end weisco pistons, alcohol injection FM ic. It was making 410 WHP but lost it's daily driver appeal. I'd like to buy a TDI Rs Skoda. MK2 or 3 next year 👍
  7. Thanks for the welcome. I'm new to Skoda but not mechanics or electrics. I did own a Subaru Sti about 20 years in California when they first came out. I had that engine modified and went a bit crazy modifying it.
  8. Thanks for your reply. Hunting down this under boost P0299 is a right PITA
  9. Hi all, I've been enjoying my Skoda Octavia TDI Rs Estate until this constant P0299 code appears. The Cars Turbo stops producing boost, and is a right dog to drive unless I clear it or switch the Car off and back on. I don't have access to Vcds or another approved ECU reading software . What I've done to resolve this so far are Using a Vacuum pump to check the wastegate. Swapped out the N75 valve Changed the air filter. Today I checked under the car and I could hear a hissing sound. All I could do was get a bottle of soapy water to try and pin point it. I'm thinking it's the intercooler elbow connection. I've uploaded a pic trying to capture where the sound is coming from. Hopefully some experienced people can give me some advice. Cheers Stu
  10. Hi all, Names Stu, I purchased an Octavia TDI vrs MK3. It was a high mileage 200k Car with a full service History. Only 1 owner. I'm not new to Mechanics but know I still have a lot to learn. One of those things how much thought has been put into Skoda. Thanks and Hello 😃
