Car still at local dealers.They have changed ABS control module after the car stopped while they were using it.They want to run it for a few days before it is handed back.

Car failed to start again on Christmas Eve.Car now back at local Skoda Dealer.We are running a Fabia courtesy car.

Car cut out just before the roundabout joining the slow moving traffic.Will try to video if problem returns.Thanks ,Tony.

The garage did use the car and a technician took it home two nights running with diagnostic equipment connected.The car worked fine,no fault found.The car is back home now.Skoda assist only provide a car for two days if no fault is found.

My 2011 2L CR diesel has a fault.It cutsout then fails to start for up to an hour.When you turn the key after its cut out you get all the usual warning lights on but none of them go out.When the key is turned further toengage the starter motor there is nothing except for an audible warning beep.There is no drain on the battery when the key is turned. The car is at the local Skoda dealer but coming back tonight with no fault found ,logged or otherwise.My wife drives the car and has no confidence in it any more as it stopped on a busy roundabout.Any ideas would be great.Thanks,Tony.

My 2011Octavia Scout is in the local Skoda dealer where they are trying to trace a problem which cuts the engine out and then fails to start again until about an hour has elapsed.When the key is turned all the usual warning lights come on but none go out .When the key is turned to engage the starter motor nothing happens except for an audible warning beep.Since the car was taken to the garage it has worked perfectly and there is no fault logged .The fault has happened four times in the past three weeks.The last break down was on a busy roundabout with my wife driving.Our two children pushed the car out of traffic flow.This was a dangerous situation. If anybody has any ideas I would be most greatful to read them and pass them on to Dereck Slack Motors .Thanks Tony.

My 2.0litre CR Diesel occasionally fails to engage starter motor.All the usual warning lights are on but none of them go off. An audible warning sound starts when the key is turned to engage starter motor.I checked all fuses under the bonnet and made sure the relay(assuming its a relay) with 100 stamped on it was pushed home. Battery terminals are clean and tight.Battery is in good condition .Try the key about one hour later and the car starts normally.Any ideas would be great. Cheers ,Tony.

Hi rwbaldwin, when engine is cranked the rev counter stays at zero.

My 1.4 TDI will not start .The heater plug dash light is constantly flashing and the engine managment light has come on.All the fuses are ok.The engine was warm when the fault arose.I would be greatful for any ideas.Cheers Tony.

There is a spindle with a gear mechanism on the end.A brass pipe connected to a nipple (for the water pipe).A water jet.A gasketfor the back of the motor drive.Various O rings and seals for the pipe up the centre of spindle.Good instruction leaflet.

If anyone has screen wash water in the boot,the pipe has come off the connection to the motor drive body or the pipe up the centre of the wiper spindle has snapped. A repair kit is available for this from VW. Part No 8L0998711 It fixed my four year old Fabia rear wiper leak It cost me £30 and an hour or so of my time, which seemed better than £76 pounds for a complete unit.

Water is running from front left inner wheel archleading edge and front left corner of undertray.

Hi, what is the easiest way to access the washer bottle pump on a Fabia 1.4TDI,as ithink the rear washer pipe has blown off the pump.It may have been frost that has caused the problem.Front washers are working fine.Cheers, Tony.

Hi, Do the three black plastic clips on the top of the filter can have to be pushed away from the can,or is it the two oval buttons which stick through the filter can holder that have to be pressed in over to release the filter from its holder.the oval buttons are about 100mm from the top of the holder and 180deg apart. I have tried gently easing the clips and buttons but to no avail. The Fabia is a 2004 Comfort that I purchased three months ago. Cheers, Tony.
