  1. That one was about additives in a Rover K series petrol engine - YouTube - Fifth Gear - Do Fuel Additives really make you faster?
  2. and there was I thinking that I was old.
  3. I know that since I put the Allard Race Pipe on my Fabia VRS, removing the EGR, the ASV has gone as well and I get the "shakes" a trifle when switching off. I don't know if they are in the same assembly on the PD100.
  4. On the other hand its modus operandi is to raise the cetane number of the fuel by 4 IIRC, so why would it not do this for Shell V Power etc?
  5. I'd be concerned that the release rearing wasn't changed. Site sponsors (JabbaSport in my case) always ship a replacement clutch as a kit including a new release bearing and new clutch-cover mounting bolts. Another possibility is the dog-bone mount either loose or worn. I didn't realise how bad mine was until I did skudmissile's (thanks John) DIY dog-bone mod on a spare mount he supplied me with. Fill the gaps around the rubber insert on a spare mount with clear silicone and leave it to cure for a day or three. Leave it somewhere the smell won't bother you. Old one out, remembering to use a trolley-jack and a block of wood to support the gear-box, filled one in, which should be good for 10k to 20k miles, when you can repeat the process with the one you removed earlier.
  6. I have no sympathy for the tax-dodgers; there is a statistic somewhere that shows non tax compliant drivers are more likely to have no insurance cover either.
  7. and if odometer is not recording the correct mileage, the service interval calculations and fuel consumption computer will also be out (assuming they have a degree of accuracy now).
