  1. When I asked the dealer whether there was a chance that changing shocks could resolve the issue, he said it might do for a few weeks but without a new and different part it would probably return. All the can suggest is wait for Skoda to rectify. They have their hands tied behind their back really by Skoda. Rubbish isn't it.
  2. Thanks for your report. That is good news. Maybe the problem has been identified and different shocks fitted. Dealer tells me currently no replacement parts identified for existing vehicles. Good info, thanks, enjoy your car!
  3. Skoda UK are not budging on the issue. It is a "characteristic" - end of. Their best offer was to pass on to me an offer from the dealer to change the shocks for the warranty repair cost. The only alternative they offer is for me to take the case to the Motor Ombusman. They even told me there would be no recompense of the repair cost if the problem were to be fixed by replacing the shocks. The dealer has been very helpful, but we've concluded that at this point in time that not a good idea to go ahead. Skoda are aware that there is a problem. So for now, I'm stuck with a car that sounds like an old Cortina when it goes over bumpy roads. Skoda Kodiaq manufactured with DCC+ after 14 June 2024 is best avoided I think, I am amazed that this has not been picked up in the motoring press as it seems to have been a problem across the VW group.
  4. Yes, that is a good point. It probably also explains why the car we test drove did not make such noises, thus the car delivered to us probably had different "characteristics" to the one I drove.
  5. So the car was back in with the dealer last Thursday. They agreed the noise is intrusive and had had another Kodiaq with DCC+ in the previous week with the same issue reported. They raised it as a technical problem with Skoda UK again and got the same response from them. The wording on their response refers to: DCC+ noises on irregular surfaces for Kodiaq 2.gen fitted with DCC+ Complaint - Hollow knocking sound from the chassis on irregular surfaces Shock absorption characteristics changed in production as of June 2024 In vehicles produced after the aforementioned dates, the shock absorption characteristics are "as designed" Clearly not a solution or a good response given the nature of the sound. I will now get back to Skoda UK directly to complain again. I wonder if any of the motoring press are aware of the issue?
  6. Hi Colin. When last in, the dealer showed me an email from Skoda UK telling them it was a characteristic and to investigate no further. The dealer had been pretty good investigating and we're unaware of the issue. They showed me the email but would not let me have a copy as it was marked "internal only". I will see what happens today but will revert to Skoda UK again if no joy.
  7. Hi Adam. I'm not able to message as I've not posted enough on here apparently to enable messaging. My car is back at the dealer today, with this as an investigation. It was definitely louder on mine than the one I drove. I also experience a kind of crabbing if this happens when I'm turning, I've added that onto the fault report. I told them that it is embarrassing when you have passengers in a new car which makes a racket every time you go over a bump. It does pi$$ me of. I would not have bought it if I had known this would happen. A friend suggests that if I get no joy this time I take to the motoring press of Honest John or someone. I still find it difficult to understand how any engineer finds it acceptable.
  8. Did you get anywhere with your dealer?
  9. Sorry for not replying sooner. Went into dealer again today re other problems and discussed this again. Took a Sport line diesel out for a drive with salesman. Made the same noise but not quite so loud and intrusive. He said hears similar on his elroq. Seems it is a "characteristic". Very odd. My car is back in next week for a number of fixes, rear washer not working, logged out my profile, crazy number of brake warnings. I've also had to buy some oil as got low oil warning light this week, 13,500 miles. I've reported the knocking suspension again, will see what they say. Not really impressed, not sure if buy another but decent size petrol only cars becoming hard to find.
  10. Thanks for that info. I don't recall having experienced it on the test drive of the Sportline diesel we tried before we bought the car either. I would like to get a test drive in another of the same again. The dealer didn't have one available last time. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks. Seems it's not common then!
  12. Thanks for that BeeTee. I can't be persuaded that a metal clunking sound is normal. If it was my old Cortina making the same it would be a new shock for sure. I don't think there should be metal on metal. I'm convinced it is either faulty or incorrectly installed. I don't understand why Skoda are so averse to investigating. Good luck with your replacements, it's not an option that is open to me really.
  13. Thanks for your replies. It will be going back again shortly. Skoda explicitly stated in their correspondence to ignore everything else VAG as it did not apply to them. I drove a Superb with DCC and had no noise. At that time the dealer had no other like models in to drive to compare, but Skoda gave them a get out of jail card. I still believe it is a manufacturing fault, I can't believe that an expensive 2025 car would have clanging shocks built in as a feature.
  14. The car was brand new. As I stated above, the dealer has had it back, acknowledged the problem but were prevented from going further by Skoda UK. I am about to take it back again , would like to see if anyone else had similar issues with DCC.
