  1. Hi all, My Kodiaq IV Sportline is just under a year old, having been delivered in March 2025. In early December it developed a fault that meant it wouldn't charge at all... When plugged in it the light on the charging socket/port would flash for about 30 seconds white...then go solid red and not charge. This happened no matter what charger I plugged it into. I booked it in with Johnsons Skoda. They looked at it found an error code, cleared the error code and plugged it in and it charged... confirmed it was now ok and handed it back. To be fair to Johnsons it would now at least start to charge.... BUT... I found that the vehicle would now randomly stop charging...sometimes after 5 mins of being plugged in, sometimes 30 mins. A brief message would flash up on the infotainment screen saying " Charging Cancelled" and it would stop. This happened at my home charger (PodPoint Solo with a fixed cable), a public motorway GridServe charger and a PodPoint charger at my place of work. Interestingly my home charger app displays as 'Charged' when it does this i.e. its reporting the vehicle has ended the charge because its reached its limit (but it may have only charged 10% from 0). My wife as a Vauxhall Mokka-E EV and it has NONE of these issues whatsoever...charges from 0 to full without any incident, so its highly unlikely its my home charger for these reasons. As you might imagine, I took it back to Johnsons and explained the issue at length. They had it for 24hrs, plugged it in to a 3 pin charger for about 4hrs, then a 7KW charger for a bit, then an 11KW charger for a bit...and it seemingly worked fine. Their technician apparently suggested that maybe its because of the xmas lights in your street causing a problem with your charger?" As you can imagine I was completely incredulous at that suggestion...that's not how the electrical transmission infrastructure, EV chargers or even Xmas lights work! But I took the car back assuming it would be ok.... BUT... It has become apparent that its still canceling the charge...this evening I've been able to reproduce this 3 times. I've also noticed that the Skoda Connect will lock and unlock my car without issue....but if I try to change the charging limit with the app, or start charging via the app...I get an error message, and it doesn't start to charge. On occasion its charged to about 70% in my 5 hr charging window (set using the PodPoint app to line up with my tariff)if left overnight....so its possible that if its left alone it will randomly start up again...then stop...then start and so on. Neither PodPoint or the Skoda app give that kind of info, and I'm not up for staying up all night to watch it do this. As you can imagine I am getting really irritated by this and Johnsons attempts to diagnose and fix the problem. I suspect they've merely cleared errors and seen it charges, rather than diagnosing why those error codes were thrown in the first place...I either need to go back to them which I'm having serious second thoughts over, or try another dealer who has better expertise on the Kodiaq and PHEV/EVs in general. Has anyone experienced this kind of issue? I'm thinking it could be a software issue or a fault with the onboard charging equipment (overheating, a messaging issue or similar)? It's definitively not the Xmas lights in the street as being the middle of Jan...they have come down! :) Has anyone had poor experiences with Johnsons Skoda generally in terms of diagnostics and repairs? Regards Cali
