Help - EPC LIGHT
Bad news, car needs a new clutch, flywheel and release bearing. There are no signs of manufacting defects or failures, just burnt out/worn down, so warranty won't cover a thing. Price being quoted is circa £2500 all in. I've had a brief google to see similar cases and costs, as well as contact the next nearest Skoda branch. Seems like a lot of money but maybe thats just how much it costs? :(

Would a clutch issue be expected at 19k miles? I understand that warrenty does state wear and tear items are not covered (understandably), but surely a clutch should not be expected to fail at 19k miles? Would Counsumer Rights act or Sales of Good Act be of any use, which states items and parts should be fit for purpose and should last as long as a reasonable person would expect them to last.

It’s Škoda new car warranty with 7 months left. Eventually after some back and forth with dealerships and Škoda customer support, Škoda have given a push from their side to force the dealer to take my car from recovery. Now to wait and see what the issue turns out to be and see if warranty will cover or not!

Help - EPC LIGHT
I’m down in the borders so nearest Škoda dealer is Arnold Clark Seafield Road Edinburgh. They were little to no use on the phone but I’m going to call them again tomorrow and hope there’s someone around who has a bit more of a clue. If not I will probably have to go Carlisle way. Obviously with a clutch issue I’m worried it won’t be covered under warranty as it may be deemed wear and tear even at 18k miles. Škoda assist have said they would provide a hire car but I don’t want to end up footing a large cost for this alongside garage repairs if not covered by my warranty.

Update - Car has now brokendown and won't drive, appears that the clutch has knackered. Car is at 18,900 miles. Unsure if the prior issue yesterday is linked or not. Skoda assist sent out AA who was able to load car up for towing, but only able to take car to a skoda garage once said garage accepts to take it in. Nearest skoda appropved garage is around 50 miles away, Arnold Clark. After spending an eternity on hold and being passed around, was told they would be able to next look at it at end of FEB! And till then they wouldnt be able to take the car to hold, meaning to hire car can be organised via skoda. Spoke to another Skoda dealer ages away from me who advised Arnold Clark cannot refuse car and should take it in and identify issue in 48 hours. Now need to wait till tomorrow to phone back and try argue my case to get it seen quickly!

Thanks for the advice. Had the battery checked with a tester at a garage and no issues. However driving today the car appears to be inappropriately over revving while driving, and takes a wee sec to recognise I’ve changed up to 5th or 6th gear ( keeps showing 3 or 4). Going to get it checked by my nearest Škoda garage and hope warranty covers the issue!

Looking for some advice. Was driving my 2023 Kamiq earlier when it started to lose power, EPC warning came on and slowed down car, managed to pull over. Car then wouldn’t start showing error EPC and 12v issue, and start stop error. Attempted a jump start which started engine but after about 20 seconds and some revving the engine gave out again. Got recovery to come, took around 1 hour and when they arrived it started no issue (typical!). A diagnostic was run showing fuel rail pressure error, but mechanic had a good look and reset everything with no errors after. Got the car home, only thing coming up is 12v low, I have ran it for a good while now to hopefully charge it up, but got it booked for a battery check tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar or has any advice? I still have my Skoda manufacturer warranty for 7 months.
