Hi folks, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for advice. My 19-plate Superb Estate 1.5 tsi has the 7-speed DSG and about 78,000 miles / 125,000 km on the clock. When pulling away from traffic lights one day the revs rose briefly. About 30 seconds later all drive was lost and the dash lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree. It was recovered to my usual non-Skoda garage, who diagnosed a failed Mechatronics unit. The failed part is V0AM325026E Z5O and while I know that, I don't know the codes that it threw when it failed. This was back on December 10th and it seemed like just one of those things. Unfortunately the Main Stealers say that the parts are on long-term backorder and they can offer no date for availability. While I anticipated that that the repair process would be painful and expensive, at this stage it's really getting silly. I assumed that the fault would be a solenoid valve or hydraulic actuator of some kind, but looking around online, I see that the most common spare offered is a hydraulic accumulator. It might seem that I am trying to second-guess the garage and, well, yes, I am. While they can be very good, this isn't our first rodeo, as they say across the pond, and it is possible that they are condemning the Mechatronics unit in its entirety because they're not confident of fiddling with the innards. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks!
