  1. Illegal, best not to fit them. I fitted upgraded xenons and was very impressed search threads for NightBreaker to see my comments if interested.
  2. prices seem quite reasonable for labour charges and parts
  3. felt quite slow when I drove one but seemed smooth enough
  4. Hello and I hope this helps http://www.skospares.com/
  5. hope it looks ok once done good luck! and may the sun shine bright for you
  6. welcome, you are probably feeling a bit fed up, but I do not think you can claim anything from the dealer as they hold all the ace's (the deposit). I feel for you because it was unlucky that the mot ran out. However if you got an agreed delivery date and the dealer missed this then you have got a claim against them I believe.
  7. opps sorry gillywibble I did not mean to give duff advice but I've had swirls in paint before after a bodywork repair and the company who did it simply used a too agrresive cutting compound and polishing system. I fixed it by using an electric polisher with a very fine polishing mit with some thinned out tcut and by polishing in the other direction I managed to get rid of it completly. As far as I know tcut or a polishing compound and a polishing machine is a good way of doing it it. Generally unless the company has made a real hash they should have not got anywhere near going through the paint (i.e. needing a paint depth device), if they have gone that deep, get them into the small claims court as they should not be in the trade or attempting to do any body or paint repairs.
  8. thanks for the comments, I'm guessing that just as there may be a voltage regulator there may be a current regulator. I did think the actual guage of the wires limited the current drawn as the lighting circuits is much lighter in modern cars.
  9. I'm sure that particular patch is MY ROAD, I do remember buying it from the Hon Lord Snodgrass only last week, and his explicit coverant was for my use only :rofl:
  10. :D:D:D:D I can see you already your the one that was blinding me tonight
  11. seem to remember you can get an engine pre-warm kit, I can find the link on google if you are interested. It's like a mini heater.
  12. Forgot to add here is he site for yokos http://www.yokohamatire.com/ gives all model types and spec
  13. try the old finger nail test and give the tyre a good push to see how hard it was. I had some budget one's once and they were like rocks, lasted ages but never gripped at all, (well not much anyway)
  14. hi not the answer you are looking for maybe as I don't have factory fitted xenon's but I replaced my Halogens with Xenon filled Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, I put it on a thread yesterday sourced them from http://www.autobulbsonline.co.uk and was very pleased with the result, they come in h1,h4 and h7 fitment.
  15. brillllll..............................thanks for sharing
  16. have you thought about a pair of hand held CB's they have a good range generally.
  17. Something with a softer compound would be better to help keep the grip, also worth checking your shock absorbers are not worn as they play a part in ensuring the tyre stays in contact with the black stuff..........

    hello

I'm quite new also, so welcome from me also....... HELLO
  19. Thanks for you reply I would say the Night Breakers are a bit better than the philips 80% one's, I did think about upping the wattage of my bulbs again but had a nasty a few years back with melting a bulb holder within a headlight unit. Have you had any problems from the 100w bulbs? I will put both cars side to side and see what the difference is like, however I think the different headlight units will always make a bit of a difference. I tried to take a picture but my camera is not up to it, the pic just comes out bright and blurred
  20. Am going to Wales this weekend, so first time to test these where there is no street lighting (background lighting) at all (as I believe that makes some difference), it'll just be me and my bulbs! p.s. plus a couple a marsbars and cans of pop in case of emergency . Last time I went through Wales to Anglesey I managed to nearly hit a sheep so I'm hoping either my driving has improved or the sheep have been told I'm coming this time have a nice day Is it normal for the forum to log me out if I sit reading messages from other people for a while?
  21. p.s. my old impellor looked like the one above but mine jammed and caused a real old mess, even getting the old pump was a struggle, had to smash the alum mounting to get it free as it was so twisted.
  22. I used to have an old bmw, one morning thought I heard a rumble from the bearings, 20 miles later impellor in bits, bearings shattered belts wrecked, my thought if you think it may need doing or you want piece of mind get it done before it gets you and you kick yourself when the tow truck is bringing you home
  23. p.s. be careful in boiling water, a thermom that is used for body temp is not safe in boiling water, they can shatter, best to make sure it's actually used for the correct purpose, I saw some for tropical fish tanks that went pasyt boiling not sure why though as the fish would be fried....:(
