  1. Hi I hope those of you still doing battle with Skoda Customer Services, have more luck than I did. In my experience Skoda Customer Services are nothing more than a go between the dealer and the customer. Skoda admit no liability, or the fact that this is a monopoly situation if you have to fit a Skoda towbar. My dealer BURNTWOOD SKODA, admit no liability, even though the towbar was fitted at their premises and recommended by their salesman. Like scotjimland1 I considered taking legal action, but taking on the might of VAG group is futile and pointless. I have booked in to have a Skoda towbar fitted at another dealer and they have done me a good deal. I hope you all get sorted one way or another.
  2. Thanks for that Scotjimland, Skoda Customer Service are in so much trouble.
  3. Hi Scotjimland I've just recently discovered this. Infact, Skoda Customer Service said that they couldn't help me, because it was an aftermarket towbar. I have also been informed that my only legal recourse, is against the aftermarket towbar installers. I could reject the towbar as not fit for purpose - Consumer Rights Act, statutory rights no. 10 I am still considering my next move.
  4. So why do people report that dealers won't fit and coding not available? Why did my Skoda dealer not fit towbar and recommend an aftermarket company who cannot do a proper job???
  5. Sounds like a cop-out from Skoda Customer Service, and they obviously don't know what they are talking about! Everybody states, including Skoda Retailer Sales Departments, that Skoda do not allow coding of the cars by anybody, including Skoda Retailers. 🙃
  6. Hi, I have recently purchased a Skoda Superb Technology Estate for towing. I had an aftermarket towbar fitted as Skoda wouldn't fit one. I am getting the same passenger protection issues, with the same randomness as previous respondents. Has anyone found a solution to the re-coding issue?
