I have a skoda fabia mk1 55 plate 1.2htp, it has been fine for years as a daily runabout but today the radiator fan came on, but never shut off at all even once cooled down a bit still going, temp gauge in car read 90° constant so not overheating at all but fan just wouldn't go off. In the end I disconnected battery so as not to drain it, I then found the temp sensor near airbox and removed it was very brownish red as brass goes, so I cleaned up with 0000 steel wool and is shiny brass again, cleaned the pins and connector plug and reinstalled, top up water to level and started it up and let idle it took a while but fan came on after some time like it used to then I turned engine off, fan continued for approx 8 or 9 minutes then cut off is it fixed or is something I missed ? Any help much appreciated
