Where to buy a couple of things ?
sicknote replied to hotbaws's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Just got mine from the dealer this week proper size tyre on steel rim plus kit includes jack, plastic bolt for holding spare wheel in place, polystyrene insert and that litlte belt thingy for holding all in place £137 ish. For sale in three years time..unless I buy another. Just got to find somewhere to store the enormous poly insert for the compressor and can of filler. Don't forget to swap the wheel bolt cover extractor and wheel bolt removal tool over as well -
Goodbye 1.9TDi hello 1.8TSi !
sicknote replied to eccleshill's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Another Octavia 1.9Tdi Elegance estate on the market mine went yesterday to be replaced by an Octavia 1.4 TSi Elegance Estate, made the mistake of just saying wanted same again after the luxury pack I had for the previous one was only available seperately and forgot maxi dot Aghh. So the Anthrcite grey has been replaced by storm blue. Already forgot and stalled it when getting out ssooooo quiet. Early impressions -
Jerseyman, I take it you are on variable service as you quoted two year service. I had mine done last October (2009) on 1.9 TDI Elegance manual and the service was 190.20 including 24.81 VAT save you the maths 165.39 without. This included a new rear wiper blade which was extra. Even allowing for inflation yours appears a bit steep. filter 5.20 sump plug 1.14 4 litres syhthetic oil 34.20 wiper blade 8.80 all plus VAT at 15% Labour 116.00 They also cleaned the car and gave me a couple of OEM windscreen wash bottles Hope it assists Cheers

What information from Dealer
sicknote replied to dunclane's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
called SUK 3 weeks ago asked for the code beginning with 200 hadn't got it said they would contact the dealer and contact me......still waiting On the plus side dealer phoned yeaterday to say looking like the end of September ordered end May. Just replacing like for like and current one not 3 years old until end Oct. Come to think of it that took its time also -
good to hear that the law is on your side it must be a relief. I would either deliver the letter by hand or recorded delivery so they cannot use the excuse that they haven't received anything. Be prepared for the stalling tactics and hopefully when you collect the car check everything especially the paintwork. You never know. It is a shame that if I remember correctly you have had a good relationship with this dealer and they have made money out of you already. I take it you may be finding another dealer when the service comes around. Here's hoping for a satisfactory end to your saga

Hello and welcome

Another round of applause from here as well. My first meet, I just enjoy a clean Skoda with a bit of Autoglym, not a techy but some of the detailing... well you are a different breed, loved seeing and admiring your efforts and look forward to seeing the pics well done. Good to meet and greet you early arrivals and thanks to John for his help on the gate. Mangaged to get away about 1030 and found my daughter helping Mrs D (Florence) in the shop. . She is possibly a Fabia convert having fallen for the Sport in the showroom a couple of weeks ago. She really enjoyed the day and she is not easily pleased and certainly not a motorhead. Although I have said enough I cannot post this without a special thanks to JohnD and ColinD who through obviously a great deal of toil and sweat and possibly tears produced a great day, at a great location with great company, and a big surprise to boot and of course Thanks Mrs D for your efforts on the day. Well its up to us all to top that next time. So until the next time, Cheers and good health
