  1. Ok good to have another viewpoint. I am going to try get the nut off this weekend. Hopefully it is repairable with the new bearing pulling kit I have. Cheers
  2. Hello. I have narrowed down a rattle to my AC compressor (sanden sd7v16) clutch. It dissapears immediately when AC turned on (AC works fine also). Also not apparent with aux belt removed. Looking at the compressor the clutch face part is very loose rotational wise. In and out wise it maybe has 1-2mm of movement. But I can spin it and also move it up and down side to side. This is all without the nut on the compressor shaft moving or the pulley. If I try to undo the compressor shaft nut, it just turns with the shaft as it has no resistance from anything else. I have tried to clamp the clutch to the pulley, and also use a compressor clutch tool but nothing happens in the way of locking the shaft and nut. I also ordered a replacement clutch pulley bearing set. And notice that the clutch part on the replacement has a splined hole, which would indicate that it should be locked rotationally and also up and down side to side with the compressor shaft which I assume is also splined. So I would think my splined have failed in either the compressor shaft or the clutch part causing the additional movement. But then how is my AC working? Any thoughts or ideas welcome. Ideally don’t want to have to regas AC etc.
