Hello everyone, I’m writing from Germany and could really use some insights or similar experiences regarding my AC issue. Two months ago, I bought a Skoda Scala (2024 model, 20,000 km / ~12,500 miles on the odometer). The car is an EU re-import and comes with an extended factory warranty until 2029. Recently, the AC has started working extremely poorly—there is barely any difference in temperature whether it's turned on or off. Interestingly, whenever I turn on the AC and activate the "Air Care" function, the system actually starts blowing hot air into the cabin instead of cold air. I also checked the aluminum AC lines in the engine bay while the system was running, and they do not get cold at all. I have two main questions for the community: Why does the system behave this way when "Air Care" is activated, throwing hot air instead of cold? Is it normal, or even possible, for an AC system to be completely empty after less than two years? I already have an appointment at a local Skoda dealership next week for a full diagnosis and recharge. Since the car is an EU import, my selling dealer directed me straight to Skoda for any warranty claims, but he did promise to cover the costs for the refrigerant recharge out of pocket. If they do a full evac and recharge next week, will they automatically be able to detect where the fault lies? I would highly appreciate any insights, technical explanations, or advice you might have! Best regards from Germany,
