Enyaq 5F infotainment fault — anyone had this fixed under goodwill or cheaper than dealer quote? Hi all, Hoping to get some shared experience and advice. Brief summary: 2022 (72 plate) Škoda Enyaq, 30,000 miles Six months out of standard warranty on time, well under the 60,000-mile cap Bought used privately 5F fault code on MIB3 infotainment Both central touchscreen and driver's display intermittently blank out — including loss of speedometer while driving JCB Škoda Maidstone have diagnosed, replaced the 12V battery, and applied multiple software updates with no resolution They're now quoting £450 wiring check, then £1,800 for a new screen plus £2,334 for a new 5F control unit Currently waiting on a goodwill decision from Škoda UK What I'd really appreciate hearing: Has anyone had this exact fault (5F, both screens blanking)? What was the eventual fix — control unit only, screen only, or both? I'm suspicious of the dealer quoting both parts when the 5F code points to the control unit. Has anyone secured goodwill from Škoda UK on an out-of-warranty infotainment repair? Full cover, partial contribution, or refused? Anything you can share about how the conversation went would help. Has anyone had a MIB3 / MEB head unit repaired (rather than replaced) by a board-level electronics specialist? Who did you use, what did it cost, and did it stick? Has anyone fitted a used unit from a breaker via an independent VAG specialist? Roughly what was the all-in cost compared to a dealer quote and was it coded to the car ok? I'm gathering evidence of how widespread this is to strengthen the goodwill case, so even a quick "yes, had this on my Enyaq / ID.4 / Q4 e-tron in [year]" reply is useful. Happy to share what I learn back to the thread. Thanks in advance.
