  1. No worries, only joking!
  2. You make some interesting points. My method of calculating the mpg was 'leaving on a first-click-full-tank and topping up on arrival'. Petrol used against mileage covered gives a pretty accurate mpg. I used the method on the reverse journey too, which I didn't mention in my original post, and achieved 65 mpg. My car's in for service soon, but not sure it needs one! It'll be interesting what the dealership has to say. Thanks for your reply.
  3. Yes, I should have stated that mine is a 1.4 tsi. I manually calculated the mpg by 'fuel actually used on the journey'. The 'displayed' figure was an estimated 60 mpg, against the actual 69. Thanks for your reply. Like you, I'm hanging on to mine, hoping for a few more years of very enjoyable driving. Cheers
  4. Thanks, that's interesting to know. The range certainly lives up to it's reputation for being 'thrifty'. I might have a tough decision to make soon, in terms of 'what car next?'. I've fancied upgrading to a vRS for a while. Will give it serious thought now. Cheers
  5. Thanks for the reply. Strangely enough, the hot weather seems to be improving the fuel consumption somehow! A more likely reason is keeping the speed in the 55-60 region, and using optimum gear change. The car certainly enjoys motorway driving! Cheers.
  6. On a journey from Cotswolds to Mid Wales (109 miles), I achieved 69mpg. Anyone else achieving similar returns? Journey was part motorway - M5, Gloucester to Worcester South - then Kidderminster, Bridgenorth, Shrewsbury. Cheers
