  1. Make and Model: Skoda Octavia VRS mk1 (petrol) with Cruise control Colour: Black Mileage: 181,785 Price: £850 or make me an offer Description: 5 door, manual VRS, petrol Condition: has been on the drive for a while, engine runs really well, generally in good condition. a couple of minor dings and the driver floor mat is worn. 5th gear has a problem, passenger central locking sticking (so currently manual lock/unlock), and I think the rear disks need replacing. See pictures below Service History: Serviced regularly not by Skoda Extras: Has Cruise Control ! and an an old (works fine!) Ericson Bluetooth car kit. The cruise control is Skoda original kit fitted expertly many years ago and works really well. Mods: none! all original Shipping: not available Collection: Bracknell Berkshire
  2. Thanks for posting this, great detail and pictures. worked for me I used multiple drill holes and pliers to make the hole to turn the wheel. Great work, thanks again 🙂
  3. Thanks Thomas, I've just had this issue, great to see the pictures, explains a lot. Just to let you know the ebay link fails :-(
  4. disconnected the drivers door lock and the light goes out and all other doors lock and stay locked. so it looks like the new lo k has a fault. it's still under warranty so ill get it sorted. will update again when something happens.
  5. here's an update , it did work for a shirt while now the issue is back. I'll check the loom in the drivers door. and yes the light stays on. I'll update when I know more....
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone. The missus figured while I was out in her car. The battery was flat. I assume the immediate unlock is a safety feature. Battery charged and everything working as it should. Thanks again and have a great weekend:-)
  7. Thanks Smudge, I'll investigate. the drivers door lock was changed a couple of months ago....
  8. Hi, My octy vrs mk1 54 plate won't stay locked. When I press the lock button on the key fob all doors lock and then immediately unlock. I've tried the spare fob and the problem is still there. Any thoughts please
  9. Just a quick mega-thanks to bowders for the guide. It was a great help in changing my window regulator (from a man that does wing mirrors). The window regulator cable had completely snapped, luckily while the window was up. The door would fail to unlock via the key fob (a minor inconvenience), but while doing the window regulator I cleaned up the main controller connector and sprayed it with drying compound (also used to loosen nuts), and it has improved greatly (works most of the time) Thanks :-)
  10. Ended up getting serviced and some extra work, but not anything else. New clutch etc was recommended, but given the age and miles on the car did seem worth it. Eventually the noise went away !
  11. Thanks All, Autotechnic are going to have a look on Tuesday. I'll let you know what they find. Davvers
  12. Hi, I'm looking for a recommendation for an independent garage in the Bracknell/Reading area. I've used main dealers before and good to really bad experiences (one actually damaged the car and denied everything, basically said tough!) I'm after a 148,00 mile service, investigate a noisy clutch bearing (eek!) and a wobble from the front wheel at motorway speeds. Oh and its an Octy Vrs 54 plate The speed wobble was introduced by a main dealer and trashed tyres, but I had it laser tracked and found they'd knocked the 'toe in' right out and the tracking was out. I got that sorted, the tyres do OK now, but the wobble is still there. Thanks in Advance, Davvers :-)
  13. Hi , All done now. Car runs as smooth as silky the silkworms cod piece! It was a bolt that had worn(?) that holds 5fth in place, Skoda paid 25% and it came to about £550. could have been worse. Just glad to have it back and a 2year warranty on the job and parts. I tried to get more info about the actual fix, but they didn't want to chat.
