I want to buy a 2010 fabia 1.2tsi with a dsg with 54,000 miles on it for 3k. Usually I would put many bad experiences about cars down to internet talk but with the tsi and early dsg gearboxes I have heard some stories in real life especially with the recalls. I have tried to google these things and found many old posts but cannot tell for sure. Did the 2010 Fabia come with a DQ200? Is the DQ200 with dry clutches inherently unreliable? Like it WILL break not if? Also is the tsi engine of this era (EA111) problematic with timing chain issues at such low mileage? The timing chain kits and tools don't seem very expensive and this "simpler" engine with the single overhead cam could be a DIY fix. I think this car has been driven for short distances majority of the time.
