  1. Just got back from a 500 mile round trip this weekend. Averaged 69 mpg overall in my 1.6 TDI 105 bhp. I'm doing over 10,000 per year and no problems at all with DPF.
  2. Yeh, just a bit of wd-40 or equivalent. It's not a high-use hinge so anything will do. Just give it a good wipe down after.
  3. Thanks, I'll try that finalising thing. If it doesn't work I'll try a different disk just in case it's dodgy. I like the stereo on my Fabia, but I like listening to Radio 5 so I have the annoyance of holding the Radio button down for ages before it will allow me to choose AM.
  4. Hi. I've managed to put some MP3s onto a CD-R to play in my Fabia. All very nice. But I tried using a CD-RW and it didn't work. Did I do something wrong or does it just not like that format? I wanted to use it a bit like a hard drive where I'll update it everytime I get bored of the songs.
  5. Mine hasn't changed... but I've noticed a lack of pulling away power in 1st gear. It might be my imagination though.
  6. Thanks for all the comments. I've now put down a deposit on a Fabia 1.6 TDi and its the 105bhp. It's a bit a of a step up from my 14 year old Felicia... that was a 1.3 MPi at 54 bhp! I hope the Fabia will be just as reliable and well built as the Felicia was.
  7. Thanks firefox2 Normally there is a trade off between peak power and best fuel efficiency so I thought it was strange. I did an insurance check and there seems to be little difference between them. I wondered if other countries have difference tax schemes which depends on power rating.
  8. Sorry if the answer is obvious... What physical difference is there between the three different 1.6 TDi engines? They come in three different power outputs but all have the same (quoted) mpg. And, why do they make a low powered one when the higher powered engine has the same mpg? Just wondered.
  9. Excuse my ignorance but what problems are there with the DPF? I do about 10,000 miles per year. A mixture of town commuting and weekend long drives. Currently drive a 14-year old felicia and I was thinking of getting a 1.6 TDi.
  10. Good, thanks. I could never be bothered with fitting it myself, so don't mind paying someone else to do it.
  11. Hi, I just had my exhaust replaced on my Felicia 1.3 (middle section and rear silencer). It cost £136 inc.VAT. Was I ripped off, or is this about right? Matthew
  12. Thanks, I'll try that. I thought it'd be good to get someone else's experience. I don't want to wreck it!
  13. I average 37 mpg but it's so variable that it can easily go from 33 up to 40 depending on what kind of month I've had. My record mileage on 1 tank was 338 miles and I was cutting it fine! If you keep getting around 34 mpg even on long runs I'd suggest doing some investigating.
  14. Hi - beginner's question here. I want to change my interior/courtesy light bulb. How do I get into it - there's obvious screw or place to open it? Do just prise it open with a flatheaded screwdriver? Matthew
  15. Are catalytic converters not a legal requirement in Spain then? Or have I misunderstood you?
  16. I was often stalling at lights or when parking and it turned out to be a air leak on the throttle body gasket. Have you checked the possibility of that yet? Or it could be an air leak around the inlet manifold. Fixing it has made the engine much smoother and better low revs power.
  17. Hi, Have you voted on "Whats most common felicia complaint?" yet? Just trying to get lots of pollsters to get a broad view http://www.briskoda.net/forums/felicia-fun-forman/what-s-most-common-felicia-complaint/101852/
  18. Hi, have you voted on "What's most common felicia complaint?" yet? Just trying to get as broad a picture as possible http://www.briskoda.net/forums/felicia-fun-forman/what-s-most-common-felicia-complaint/101852/
  19. I think I had the same situation as you but mine fitted well with the rubber o-ring around the metal round bit. I was a bit puzzled by the different shaped end but it works fine. 20. I knew i'd forget someting! I'm amazed that some of you guys have had 2 thermostats - is that in the last 12 months? Having seen what some of you guys have been through I'm not so worried about my few minor part changes.
  21. So it's Rust, Windscreens and Suspension that are the major things to look forward to.
  22. I suppose it's worth pointing out that this Forum will probably attract people who's cars have had something go wrong with them recently - that's why I joined up. I agree that one good thing about the Felicia is that it seems quite simple to fix - if I can get the right part! and now i've fixed the throttle body gasket it's a joy to drive
  23. Hi, Having only owned a Felicia for 6 months and having to do a few reapairs, I thought I'd set a poll: What's gone wrong with your Felicia, Fun etc in last 12 months? Feel free to post "Nothing at all" - don't mind hearing some positive things about Skodas
