  1. Thanks Wino that thread has given me a few pointers to check... That set up all looks very similar to the mk2
  2. Okay... I agree with you on that. I think most of the water initially was caused by a leaking door seal. This has now been dealt with and i've also cleared leaves and dirt from the plenum channel under the wiper blades as I know that's another problem area. Basically I'm happy that any leaks have now been dealt with but i've noticed that when I use the AC the sound deadening under the driver's footwell gets damp/wet. I just want to check the drain for the AC as I feel it must be the source of the leak... I may end up just taking it back to the garage!
  3. Thanks FM... My doors are all good now and draining out where they should be. Can anyone shed any light on the AC drain pipe?
  4. I've been battling with a wet carpet in the driver's footwell (2011 Fabia)... At it's worst I used a wet vac and sucked up a good couple of litres of water and the carpet and sound deadening was still wet. I took it to my local mechanic who told me that water was coming in through the driver's door. He apparently re-sealed it all, said he could see where the water was coming through so I thought - happy days all sorted. A few days later I noticed that it was pretty wet again, so I tried to keep on top by putting a dry towel under the carpet everyday. Then I realised that it hadn't rained since my mechanic had repaired the door seal. I've come to the conclusion that this must be Air Con related. The trouble is I can't see where the water is coming from. The foam behind the pedals seems to get wet first. I've since managed to dry it all out and haven't used the Air Con but with the winter weather looming I know I will need it soon so it's time to get it sorted I can't find the Air Con drain pipe, as i'm guessing this is blocked or broken..? Has anyone else had this issue? Any pointers would be much appreciated
  5. Thanks for all the advice chaps - I'm currently looking at used Amundsen units with DAB and BT. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned a list with members who were willing to work there magic with the vcds coding. Can anyone tell me where this list is...?
  6. Thanks... I've been looking at the Amundsen+ on ebay - it would seem that some are listed as having DAB and same make no mention of it. Do we know if all Amundsen+ units had DAB or not...?
  7. That's a great help, thank you. Interesting to hear your comment on the sound quality being crap compared to the Swing - that's not too encouraging when spending £500 plus on a unit. I'm also put off that I'd have to spend extra on the BT. I'm actually not that bothered about Nav, my priorities are DAB, Bluetooth phone connectivity and decent sound quality. Maybe I need to start looking at aftermarket stuff, I did want to keep the OE look but not just for the sake of it...
  8. Hi, i'm hoping you guys can answer a few questions I have about installing a Columbus (RNS 510) into a 2011 Fabia Elegance... I have used the search function and some of my questions have been answered but I would like a bit of clarification. Firstly will a 2015 Columbus unit physically fit? (I've read that some Octavia units don't fit into the Fabia??) I have the maxi dot display and my OE Unit displays the reversing sensor images - I understand that to keep these features I need the unit configuring (VCDS?), Who could do this without taking it back to the dealer? I was thinking of getting a car audio company to install it if they could update these settings as well. What other items will I need to purchase, other than the unit, I'm guessing a DAB aerial and a gprs aerial. If I want phone connectivity will I need a microphone? Apologies for bombarding you with questions, i'm out of my depth when it comes to this! I haven't used this forum for years (I had a Fab vRS when they first came out), it was a good forum then and looks like it's got even better over the years. Thanks in advance Ted
  9. Ross, Thanks for that, that makes sense... Ted
  10. I really would recommend it, the dyno figures don't do justice to the in-gear performance, ie 30-50, 50-70, is what really hits you!
  11. C.J I've seen your photos in action, looking good, is that standard suspension? I don't think there are any pictures of my car on the net. Anyway i need lessons on how to you use these forums! I have got some digital pictures but haven't yet worked out how to post them onto this site...
  12. C.J, I live and work in Bournemouth, Dorset. I'm a member of Woolbridge Motor Club (Dorset based), the events I have done are with Bristol Motor Club, one being on Colerne airfield (near Bath). This year has been a bit of a trial run but next year i want to have a 'proper' go at it. The Anglesey trackday sounds good, bit of a trek for me, but the drive through North Wales is rewarding enough!
  13. Hi everyone, this is my first post, i've watched from afar for quite some time, unfortunately i'm not very computer freindly so here we go.... Anyway i've now had my Fabia vRS for 1 year and 15,000 miles. The car has totally blown away all my expectations! i've come from a mainly Peugeot GTi background and realised i needed a car with cheaper running costs, so i bought the vRS as a compromise but it is without a doubt the quickest point to point car i've owned. In the last 3 months i've made a few modifications, which in my mind complete the car. I've had the one click amd remap and have a dyno reading of 189bhp and masses of torque. Along with adjustable koni shocks and eibach springs with a Seat upper strut brace. The handling has improved dramatically although it's obviously a harsher ride. The performance is now a dramatic improvement and i'd recommend the amd one click to anyone wanting the power this car deserves. I've also done a few sprints since the modifications and I was really happy with my times which were a massive improvent on my previous times in a Pug 106 Rallye and 205 1.6 GTi, which both handled like a dream. Soon I will try and work out how to post photos etc...
