Hey guys I bought a connects2 aux input lead for my octy mk2 Vrs, before I fit it tommorow tho do I remember reading somewhere that you get a hiss through it when using iPod and that I would need to buy an adapter from maplin or such other to connect it rather than the headphone socket? Of so can someone link me please? Thx in advance

Yeah saw that, sorry figured the octavia forum might get more views, I will get the valve changed but really wanted to know if it would show on a pressure test, Any ides where I can order the valve online for a decent price? Thanks for your replys

Really sorry guys I know there is various posts about these but I've not been able to find the answer to my question yet Would a split diverter valve show up on a pressure test? Took it to my local fella to look at advised him what I thought it might be and he done a pressure test and returned the car declaring they couldn't find anything wrong with it Car makes constant hiss on boost and seems flat at top end Cheers

Hi guys few weeks ago my turbo started to make a whistle when it spins up on my 2006 octy vrs , not sure if power seems off, possibly. My first thought was a split diverter valve as its never been changed and car has done 52k now. Anyway im not very tech savvy so i took it to my usual garage to look at and suggested about a split Diverter valve. Got it back and they cant find anything wrong with it, they done a smoke pressure test and found no leaks. If its the Diverter valve would that come across in a pressure test? any other suggestions as the mechanic didnt give any? Cheers in advance Pete

Skoda Octavia vRS (05 on) - Facts & Figures - Parker's Appears to be same engine, But 0-60 looks qouted as being slower according to parkers, maybe its slightly heavier? however also qouted as being 197bhp

Hey guys just reading back through this post, Mater you said that the standard mk2 octy doesnt make the pssht sound, is there a slight hiss noise tho? i hope so as when i nail it and the revs build and so does the turbo when coming off the accelerator i get a slight pssht noise, cars standard

unfort i never set foot in the dealers today they sent a driver to collect and bring back my car, all i know is they replaced that part

Result! My faith has been restored. Got the car back and its running great, Skoda picked the bill up for me. The dealer even washed my car for me!!

::UPDATE:: Ok skoda have had the car this morning, phoned me back, obviusly saying its not service related (which they would) , they have fixed the car tho and said it was a "Modified pressure valve" part of the turbo or something, he reckons as a good will gesture he is phoneing headoffice and trying to make it cheaper for me or something, worst case sceneario he said £99. HOWEVER! my service (£259) and this pressure valve (£99 worst case) brings the grand total up to................ £358, which happens to be the EXACT qoute he gave me over the phone for the initial service before I negotiated. 2x Coincidences?? Probably not

Something weird... Just got home from work, oddly, the car is still running like a bag of spanners but i dont know if its my imagination or not, but the car seems quicker then usual (its standard) the pull in 5th gear was phenomenal, and all the others to be honest. however i was driving a focus yesterday so could be imagination but i think it does feel quicker then norm. ?? Fordfan, was a second variable service, as far as im aware the fuel filter and sparks were not done, if so they arnt listed on the check sheet

Any suggestions if they do try and charge me? where i could go from then if they wont take no for a answer

Thats what i tohught about the MAF but i would of though they would of checked. FOC? if you mean are they gonna charge me im not sure i said to the guy about it and he sort of said well at the moment we cant tell if its due to the service or if something has just gone... if they try and charge me i might just see if i can meet them half way, Just hope they fix it tommorow
