  1. They have found the leak. Gas was escaping from a seam at the top of the condenser. New unit on order and will be fitted on Friday under warranty. Can look forward to warm weather again now. Mo
  2. I have sympathy. Mine is going in next week for the 5th time since new ( Jan 08 ) Gas keeps going but workshop cant find the leak. Would have been good to have air con during this heatwave. All been done under warranty so far. Mo
  3. Thanks for the advice everyone. I Dont get angry with the dealer in fact I am very impressed with one I am with now. Explained things very well. Car had been valeted on its return - and I hadn't asked for it. Have booked me in in a month to check on the progress of the dye. The angry icon was a mistake - more frustrated. Air con working fine at the moment. Mo
  4. Been back to a dealer and they cannot find the leak but no gas in the system again. Refilled and dye put in again - got to go back in a month to be checked or earlier if I see dye on the garage floor. System fully checked including condenser and all OK They suspect a pinhole leak that is allowing a slow release of the gas.
  5. No sure where it was coming from. I took it at face value when they said they had found the leak with the help of the dye.It did work ok for about 4 months. There was no gas in the system both times. The first time they told me the factory had forgotten gas it. Will be asking a lot more questions when I take it in this time.
  6. Has anyone else had issues with the air con system? I have 2008 Roomster Scout 1.6 Tiptronic since Feb 2008. The system has failed twice and yesterday again I found that it wasn't working. The dealer put in dye after the first failure and when it failed again I was told they had traced the point where the gas was leaking and it should now be fine.Well its gone again. The dealership has now closed and I have to travel a fair distance to another. Will they be keen to take on an ongoing warranty problem?????????
  7. Similar thing happened to me. Parked at night in well lit car park waiting for teenager to come out of youth club.Woman in row in front reversed out towards me hit my n/s wing and continued scraping the whole length of car -5 week old Vaux Astra. Her first words were ' You didn't have any lights on!!!!!!!!!!' Well no its a CAR PARK. That car was fated too.Hit five times and all while parked. Mo
  8. Hi My first post. I have a grey 1.6 Roomster Scout Auto bought in January 2008. I can say that double clicking the key fob DOES disable the internal sensors on my model, I have 2 dogs in the car all the time and never had a problem. The dealer told me about the key. I have never used the button in the door. Mo
