  1. Not sure if you mean the 3 network or 3G which is a connection speed ( as far as I understand it ) I know it depends on the Operating System of the 'phone and I'm talking of the Skoda hands free which when I got mine was not available in the UK . Stu, a well known guy on here got a batch from the Eastern Block somewhere. My 'phone (HTC HD2 much like an iPhone in appearance ) uses the Windows for Mobile system and works fine, I know Stu had a Nokia smartphone which only matched up some of the features. To go back to the question though Maxidot is key to it all and a quick re code so that the radio and stalk know that the phone is there. By the way 2 years on I still think Stu, who I've never met, is nothing short of a bloody genius when it comes to these things. By the by the way what the hell is RSAP :S
  2. Sorry if I'm repeating this I've only skipped through the many replies, I bought a handsfree for the 'phone through Stu on this forum. Maxidot shows 'phone info like number to call, missed numbers, end call, etc etc. apparently didn't do all this on Symbian phones but I've just got an HTC HD2 which is all singing all dancing as far as phones go and that all works fine with the Maxidot. My dealer could only get a Scout with Maxidot and I said I didn't want to pay the extra so he 'threw it in' for me after a bit of a nudge.
  3. My Scout was in the dealers for a service and I was 'hanging my nose over' the Yeti. The salesman told me not to bother as it's the same as the Scout apart from the looks and the Scout is the better car. So I'm stayin' as I am.
  4. Mine came on too, In a panic I rang the dealership, they were very relaxed, said don't worry it's safe to drive. On inspection they said a new part was needed, an exhaust sensor, that was done. All under the guarantee at 2+ years old. Aren't Skodas great !!
  5. Ask PF JONES how much they would charge to fit one PF Jones Witter Tow bars and Westfalia Towbars, Price Promise WE BEAT ANY PRICE. Eberspacher Main Dealer I'm doing a self fit job but it was cheap enough to buy.
  6. Hi, I've not long since taken delivery of an Octavia Scout, managed to buy a boot floor for £30 on Ebay instead of £200 from the dealer Spent the saving towards a 'phone handsfree from Stu on this site, what a good bloke he is to know! Now all I need is some coding done and I'll be a happy bunny. Love the car never had a Skoda before and so far, despite threats prior to buying it, my son in law hasn't disowned me after all. He said they were :pants:
  7. Hi, I've got an Octavia Scout and want to put phone bluetooth on that. I've seen some pics of a parrot install with that module just below the radio, so that it obscures the air con controls ! I think I'm going to go for the Skoda bluetooth which Stu gets, you'll find him on this forum a lot. The display comes up on the Maxi Dot and there isn't the need for a bolt on screen to make the dash look like something from a repaired space ship. David.
  8. Thanks for the advice, agree about Halfords that's why it's not been done and I'm still looking. Stu's price is now a bit high, was £165 now £210 which is a lot for the parts only. I have picked up the info on how to do the job though and may put Parrot in myself. We'll see !!
  9. I've a new (2007) Octavia Scout and I want to fit bluetooth for the phone, I've seen you can change some of the buttons on the Multi Function Steering Wheel to phone instead of radio, don't fancy my chances at this though, I prefer the option of something like a Parrot kit from say Halfords, seems like less work. However how do I get to the back of the radio to connect a mute lead. I have seen there are keys to get the radio out available but can't see where they might go. Looking at some of the pics on here the trim round the radio seems to come off, don't want to go wading in with a screwdriver though, as I say it's a new car! Halfords tell me I'll need an ISO lead but I'd like to have a look and see, some other items I've read, not on this site, say that you don't need it as the connection is already there. It seems this is a dumb question to ask hopefully you'll forgive me, I'm used to older type radios that come out more easily than this .............
