  1. Thanks for the advice. I was told a while back by a car trim repairer that baby wipes was all you need. Now the penny has dropped, they also offer leather refurbishment. What is a good product to use?
  2. Quite like the leather seats (but would have preferred if they were black),with good support and heated seats front and back. I clean them with baby wipes. Bags of legroom at the back. Built is Sat Nav is okay and handy but I still use it in conjunction with my Garmin. The glove compartment and the middle console also have temperature control which can keep things cool, not used it much mind you. Love the Xenon lights on my numerous night journeys. Cruise control has also been great. The windows at the back tint with the sun which is quite handy. I've had the car for 3 years and it has been so reliable. Had to replace the alternator pulley this week and apart from that, jus the usual long service and tires. Make sure you read on the water ingress problem with these cars, but I've not bee plagued by it.
  3. In the winter because it soo cold I don't tend to notice any difference and plus lack of sunlight! In the summer it does seems to keep the car cooler inside, which is a bonus on those few hot days of the year.
  4. All sorted. It was the alternator pulley which had become faulty - apparently a common problem as they operate as a one-way clutch. New part and labour £75, so didn't sound like a huge job.
  5. Thanks for the responses so far. It looks like the alternator belt is loose/slack, and its worse as the engine warms up and when you put full lock on wheels. I'll have to get it down to local to check alternator. Will update on outcome.
  6. I'll have to have another look and see if it's possible to isolate the pulley where the sound is coming from. The cambelt, pulleys etc were all changed July 2009.
  7. Hi yesterday night I notice a strange noise from the front. I had a look this morning with the bonnet open and car engine was vibrating and a squeaky sound coming from one of the pulleys. I hope it nothing serious but I'm fearing the worse. The car is coming up to 80K but service not due till another 10k approx. Any ideas anybody?
  8. If you have Euro Car Parts nearby it might be worth calling them for a quote. On their webiste the batteries range from £65-99.
  9. I've noticed how well my new Uniroyal Rainsport 2's grip the road especially in the wet - but I guess that's what they designed for. I had all four fitted 2 weeks ago at a local independent for £370.
  10. I've just replaced all mine with Uniroyal Rainsport 2 (225/45/17). Much quiter than my previous tyre and very good wet grip. Cost me £379 fully fitted at a local independent. Camskill were quoting £111.70 and then you need to get somebody to fit them.
  11. My sensors packed up during the arctic weather and was seriously thinking of getting the set off EBay. Finally got round to washing the car at the weekend and the sensors miraculously started to work again. Must have had some dirt lodged. Always worth given them a good clean to rule out a simple dirt problem.
  12. Hi could anybody tell me what needs to be serviced at 70k? Car is on variable service and the message '1000 miles before service' has come on. Any ideas of what might be approx cost of this service? Thanks in advance.
  13. Thet look nice, I like your choice. Not bad price with brand new tyres included.
  14. I picked up a Edition 100 55plate last year at BCA Peterborough with just under 55k on the clock for £5725 plus the buyer’s fee of £291.
  15. Hi, just to update the thread. I now got all the work down and it came to £320 in the end.
