Had a good weekend with the new car, but really fed up with not having the multi function steering wheel! With my driving position I can't reach the stereo with out leaning forward! Why oh why don't skoda offer it with a manual gear box? It's a crying shame. It's the only gripe I have now! The car is smoothe to drive, and probably suits my driving style better than DSG but I miss the mfsw!

This is my 3rd new skoda in 4 yrs, had vw's before and audi's never a problem, but been unlucky with the last one, but the dealer has been brilliant!!!!! Problem with guernsey is one garage has just about the franchises , including vw, audi, merc, bmw etc, and charges a fortune and doesn't give a stuff about the customer! So I will stick with skoda thanks! Better the wolf you know?

The new (manual gear box) in the brand new car is brilliant, smooth and runs beautifully, glad I changed cars! My thanks to Paul's Motors Guernsey, the best franchise skoda dealer! Only 7,300 miles in 24 months with the DSG so a bargain to be had by someone !

I pick up a new manual version this Friday, thanks to my franchise ! They still haven't managed to find out what the problem is? But it keeps ( hunting) at traffic lights etc! Hopefully the new one will be perfect?

I bought my VRS 20TFSI DSG in April 2010 to replace my Fabian VRS. It was brilliant for 6weeks, then it stalled, then it started vo vary the reve between N 600 and 1400 rpm, but this only happened sporadically! I kept taking it to my franchise, they got advice from skoda, but after various visits, a new gearbox, ecu mecatronic unit etc etc etc, my franchise and I ran out of patience! I wrote letters returning the car as faulty goods! Skoda didn't want to know! But god bless my franchise in Guernsey! My new car arrives in a couple of days! Our consumer rights in Guernsey are different to UK. I have ordered exactly the same car, but NO DSG! I have had 24 months of grief with it, no more thanks! My sincere thanks to Paul's Motors Guernsey! Yes I have had to contribute towards the new car, but they have done me a good deal! I love the skoda cars, and my franchise, but the way skoda were with me, I feel a little let down by them! Good luck to anyone else struggling with a rogue vehicle like mine!

They have changed the whole box assembly, ALL the components, my garage didn't think it would cure it and it didn't. They have told me, mine is the only one in the world doing this? I don't somehow believe that, my garage think it could be throttle assembly? but skoda ruled that out and did the box, the car has only done 6k miles, and i dont even want to drive it anymore, the old box was clunky and jumped at times, but drove brilliantly, they did a factory reset and it was horrible to drive but smoother, now a complete new box etc? it seems to drive better, but when it nearly stalled again, i just went back home, so only done 2 miles, i'm just fed up with it! Has anyone else had any problems, my 03/2010 octavia has been stalling and fluctuating revs sincemay 2010, they have just replaced the whole gear box assembly, but after only 2 miles it fluctuated between about 500 or 600 and 1200 rpm, but didnt stall this time, but it is intermittant, they don't seem to have any idea what it is, but has anyone else had this problem? it might help if any of you have any ideas, I'm so fed up that I never want to sit in it again, which is a real shame, i love it when its running ok. I upgraded from a 2007 Fabia vrs which i remapped, that was fantastic and never gave any trouble, my franchise garage feel really sorry for me, but they can only do what they are told, if you have any ideas please please help me, i'm so gutted I don't know what to do next? I have a 16gb card fat 32, it has worked perfectly for me, I have set each artist up with an individual folder, that workes perfectly, its just a bit fiddly, so i use my ipod on the mdi mostly, but control of the ipod on the new bolero isnt brilliant. Try various ways, it will read a 32gb card i have tried a mates and its fine with it

Hi guy's my dealer has just had my vrs back again, i sorted the random playing out, re booted ipod ok now!!! trouble with earthing (hear whistle and fuel pump buzzing when engine is being reved) is this normal???? my local guy doesnt know???? first one they have fitted!!!! on low volume it sounds ok!! I have the same problem using the cd or ipod, i don't know the soulution exactly but when using the ipod just press cd and it reverts to cd, but to go back to ipod you have to eject cd, then you can insert but have to disconnect ipod then reconnect ipod!!!! bit of a pain. My vrs is only 1 month old, been back to the garage 3 times for stutter ,vibration, ipod, etc, is this the norm or have i been unlucky???? seems on here that i'm not alone!!! I am thinking of having a remap done !! is any system better than another??? i have been offered 163hp for £280 (ex vat, channel islands) or he will take it to 190hp if i want???? i want a bit more umphhhhh but don't want to through fuel away, i will be doing about 25000 miles pa. you guys seem to know all that needs to be known, any ideas?????

1 month old VRS, should have read this before buying! Rattles/vibrates when accelerating, ?dashboard loose? funny sound when engaging clutch for first bit of acceleration, fuel guage seems to jump, rattle from suspension front left side Engine stutter, already been in for fix!! didn't cure it at all. Thats after only 1 month ? does it get worse from here on?

Hi, I have just had one fitted in my VRS, it works a treat, got to go back to the garage because of earthing trouble though. Mine is the skoda supplied one, fitted by my skoda garage as part of my purchase deal (first one they have fitted). It turns on when i turn the stereo on turns off when i take the key out (after a min or 2) but you have to set up play lists!!! 6 at the most 1-5 plays play lists 6 plays entire i pod. sound is great but you cant see any song names etc on the head unit! If anyone reading this knows what I have done wrong with mine please let me know, my i pod keeps playing random songs not whole albums/playlists etc, i have checked the instructions etc and the stereo is not on random , i set the ipod random selection to off but when i plug it in to the car it alters on its own. It used to be fine ???? strange. I would recommend this system though !!! Hope this is some help:thumbup:
