I'd say yes, the box as standard is quite a pain after the remap. Drive just goes to the highest gear asap and sport just keeps the revs too high for normal driving. The remap from what I've read, improves this 100%

Here are some pictures of it all fitted The radio skin can be modified, someone else did this one. I'd like to change the red to green, but I'm not 100% happy to do it myself at the moment. It's running Co-pilot, but comes as standard with iGo. It will also run Google maps with ease and any other navigation software you want For the music player, I've chosen Media Monkey as it has full album artwork As it's Android, you can run any compatible app from the store and I've had no issues connecting my Nexus 5 phone. The Bluetooth is OK, it could do with an external mic, but I've not got round to that. It's currently running Android 4.4.2 and is rooted. The latest version is 4.4.4 and available on XDA For the price, it's a bargain. I would love a fully functional VW unit, but it's not worth the extra few hundred quid.

It's very good, the surround I bought fits perfectly

Revo do seem to be quite steep, I looked at a remap at Xmas and even with the discount, it was still more expensive than Shark.Sport mode is pointless, unless you're thrashing the car all the time, it holds the gears to high for regular driving. The Audi A4 quattro at work is much better in sport

Yes very happy with everything now it's working on the car, the windows 8 issue is still there. I more than anyone understand a need for a family life. Perhaps an auto reply could be setup on your system? There is one already that says the email has been received, this could be amended to state the offices are closed? Or even something on the website?I wasn't in a position to call until that Monday, which is then when I got the "out of office" message. The instructions sent out with the STS also need a quick amendment, as the links in the instructions don't work. I spent quite a while searching your site, other forums and Google in a quest to find the right drivers. My device was also setup incorrectly prior to being sent out, which then caused me even more problems and eventually blocked my ECU from accepting the STS (2 calls to your support line during the day resolved my issues) I've still recommended your company to colleagues at work, the map is really very good and I'm even considering a DSG map

Buy from a trader? My TSI was bought from a local garage, came with a 6 month warranty on it, you will however oust a bit more than a private sale.Or buy private and pay for one of these AA or RAC inspections

There's nothing to say that the water pump won't fail and the belt snap, causing you thousands of pounds worth of damage...... as happened to my TFSI powered Leon Cupra.I've got a TSI face lift Vrs now, which incidentally has just been mapped
-
I didn't think the DSG map could be self flashed?
-
The Revo software is running in sport mode and the standard software is running in drive

Just received my stage 1 map, was thinking of doing the DSG later

whats the best fuel that can be used to run a octy vrs?
bubba replied to Haych123's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
I run Tesco Momentum, main reason is the Tesco clubcard points and the cheap price! -
Finally got this sorted and my map sent off to Shark. My device should have come pre-configured to my car, but for some reason it was in Italian, so I had to erase the device. Then I chose the Octavia VRS option when setting it up again, however that has the wrong ECU, as it's not a TSI engine. I needed the 1.8 TSI option, as although it's the wrong size engine, it's the same ECU. After 40 minutes waiting for my device to reset, it finally worked. Just waiting on the Stage 1 map now. I do think the instructions could do with an update, as the links in there are wrong and I had no way of knowing about the engine selection. I also have the windows 8 drivers, but that's another pain in the ass, as I have to install the device from fresh each time it connects.

When I was on my advanced driving course in 2007, it was taught to us, however in the last few years, they've stopped teaching it. It doesn't help that most of our advanced cars are automatics!

Finally get chance to phone shark and they're closed until 5th Jan :( that would explain the lack of response. It has left me with a rather negative opinion of the company now, despite all the raving reviews from everyone else, it hasn't gone smoothly for me
-
Great, best give shark a call tomorrow then.
-
How do you find that out? It's a 2009 Face lift Octavia Vrs

Well I'm back at my house now, so I tried to get things going using my old windows 7 laptop. Followed the instructions, but I didn't get prompted to input my vehicles details, it looks as if my STS box was setup for another vehicle and was in Italian. I reset the unit and chose Skoda Octavia, but it only had the 2.0 TFSI version and not the newer TSI I chose that one and then followed the instructions to connect the car, but it always fails to communicate with my ECU when reading the existing file. It scans my ECU with no problem, checks for errors and tells me the ECU version, not will not read the file, so that I can send it off. Really not impressed with Shark at this stage, I'm £500 or more out of pocket for over a week and no closer to a stage 1 map. I understand Xmas and new year cause delays, I just like things to work as intended.

DVD holder for VRS headrest
bubba replied to Jollyroger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The next base holder would work fine on those seats. I've used them on my Mk2 for ages and 3 of my previous cars. They wrap around and clip on place, so that they ate nice and secure. Also means you can remove them easily so they aren't on display -
Cool, if I've not heard anything from them in the next few days, I'll ring up when I'm back at home
-
Didn't notice they were from Shark (although nothing via email or phone from them) I still need the windows 8 drivers, so hopefully they'll reply to my email. The links given in the instructions are dead links and the link posted above didn't help either.

Anyone Had either of these induction kits ?
bubba replied to N7EJA's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Had a P-flo on my Seat Leon Cupra, big waste of money, just made loads of noise which became annoying in the end, great for boy racers..... -
Managed to use an old windows 7 laptop, still disappointed that I've not even had an acknowledgement from Shark via email

Attempting to pervert the course of justice, quite a serious offence
