  1. Our Octy 140 dsg Elegance done 1500o miles on the last set of Bridgestones, now we are coming up to the 30k and there is lots of tread left and i am thinkig of rotating the tyres around. But have heard that they must be only rotated on each side and not crosswise, is there :confused:any truth in this?.
  2. We have now done 29800 miles in our 140 dsg Elegance. Our average mpg last time i looked worked out at 42 mpg of which 6000 miles pulling a 1350 klg caravan. Now those computer figures , I have seen ours anything from 64 mpg to 25 mpg but would not take these figures as gospel.Last journey was just over 600 miles and it recorded 50 mpg at near enough 70 mph most of the way, then again pulling the caravan for 470 miles came out at 28 mpg.Overall i think the mpg for these cars are good.
  3. The answer is yes, you are covered and i have just taken out a new one after the 3 years one run out and by taking the 2 year option it works out at qui9te a good price.
  4. Our 55 plate Octy has this problem regular , first time under warranty they fixed it ,and several times later they still "fixed" it.Couple of weeks ago i went back and they said they would do it under warranty whilst i waited.First the tech'took out the lh side interior and found pipe attached, then out came the hatch lid interior, by now i am getting worried by all this trim being pulled apart as they never seem to go back the same, finally he pulled off the jet and found it blocked and fitted new one.Time for all this 30 mins.(under warranty),this week it blocked again and it took me 30 sec to take it off seconds to blow it out and 30 secs to put it back. And i use Vag fluid.
  5. Regarding noseweight. Not only has the caravan to be level but the brakes must not be on as well, otherwise you will not have the correct reading, ie downforces ect.
  6. Our Octy warranty from 10/05 until this October covered everything, even to the small bright strip on the dash top box .
  7. Now i never watch Corrie but as the Wife is a fan i am in the next room doing other things. Now i see i am missing something. Wife just looked over my shoulder whilst typing this in and she reckons we are a sad lot.
  8. Found this to be a good thread as when i have been abroad and needed top up i found it hard trying to translate and looking for numbers. Now i take a Skoda pack with me so its ok.
  9. Yes is the answer what i use for screenwash , its the one from our dealer with Skoda etc on it .
  10. You got to say this is a great Forum for us Skoda people , you guys out there are great. Thanks to you all.
  11. Someone suggested using Halfords kit for repair of alloy wheels , i bought one i think it was about £29. Took tyre off and followed instructions, took 2 days for one wheel, it looked good.Wife came out to see and said " its not the same as others", i could have swore at the time that they were closematch but when it dried it must have changed colour. No way was i going to touch the others especially as they were perfect.Wished i had lived with the small scratch/rub.
  12. Keeping with the jets, my rear ones keep getting blocked and dealer has replaced them twice under warranty but the warranty has now run out.Any idea's why this happens?.
  13. Trouble for me to do that is the antenuer(that looks wrong) aerial in other words, i have the wire coming down the driver side pillar and on the holder in that corner.I wish i could put ours where you said , only reservations would be when you brake heavy and the road humps catch you out, i even had ours jump off the cradle on one of those.
  14. Maybe not the correct Forum to say this but it is in relation to the question and answers to to thread.Whilst our caravans have the plated max' weight on it it will be proberly be more than you think unless you get it weighed. For instance on our Coachman added to the weight is the power mover /Tyron bands and anything else which has been retro fitted , so in my case we can only take 24 klg food/clothes to get to the 1324 klg ideal weight. But as i said earlier it tows well and keeps up to 60 mph in most conditions.
