  1. Hi all, Ive been searching on the net for badge options, and came across some carbon covers (on the Millotec site I think), anyone fitted them? And if so do you have a pic I can see before I try and get hold of some? Thanks guys
  2. Well you are allowed to reasonably defend your home now, all since that farmer shot a guy a while back. Now i'd say thats going a bit far, even for some morons. But griperrod (as in the carpet edging) mounted points down attached to top edge just INSIDE fence / wall and then covered in the very slow setting mastick is handy. Then they only get it if they are trying to unlawfully enter your property. Or if you think that is a bit risky try the same thing with the knobbly plastic strips and a warning sign they sell for on the tops of walls (apparently it's the 'safe' option as they don't rust, but then, i'm thinking security not safety!) perhaps less costly in either case than other suggestions of "get hold of a smith&wesson!!" (though it does sound pretty effective!)
  3. I might resort to that while I find a new switch, 1 prob tho - will it not kill all sorts of other features? - Car manufacturers like to save a tuppence if they can share a fuse - my clio was hell back in the day - take out a radio fuse and the wipers stopped! Anyone know if this is the case - can't find it on forums! Thanks
  4. Hi Guys, Sorry about the wait - Only just got my car back after 3 1/2 WEEKS! Skimmed head, new water pump, new cam belt etc - same old, but at just 60k, and took weeks!!! anywhoo, ive said my piece to the garage, mechanic now gone and cost nowt in the end, oh and i got a new centre armrest too!!! Ok, so, tried some of your suggestions - disconnected - ignition back on and the sunroof thought it was at a rave!!!! Took a while to stop it at closed but got it there manually in the end, and reconnected the switch (I know, its a potentiometer, but switch is just easier) and back to the old randomness, and BTW, it was ****ing it down in leeds yesterday!!!! Ive been over the seals with a fine tooth comb, all good, and had the jetwash aimed at the roof while I sat inside, and not a spot of water to be found (and yes, people were looking at me a bit funny when i said there wasn't enough rain in Doncaster) I'm going to the scrappy tomorrow to see if I can scab a new switch to see if its just plain old worn out. In the meantime, any ideas guys (preferably that don't mean me getting mocked by my neighbours!!!:P) Cheers!
  5. Hi all, Bit of a weird one, Got an Octy 1 tdi elegance, 2002. The electric sunroof randomly opens to the first setting then recloses after a moment, and occasionally tilts to the same effect. It seems to be about 20 or so mins into any journey, and though initially hilarious to my other half is a little bit on the annoying side in rain!!!!! Any ideas because I couldn't find anything like it on the forums and the garage were clueless?!?!?!?! I've checked + cleaned the switch contacts and seem fine - new switch job? (they're £52 just for the switch!!) Cheers Tim
  6. Still no idea, they've had it 8 days so far, and just got parts back! Hope not too much longer! Dunno about lightweight, more like lardass! Cr*p 1.2 petrol engine in a ton of badly forged steel and plastic! And as to parts and labour its all in on warranty, that or they'll have a foot inserted somewhere! Cheers 4 the welcome:thumbup:
  7. You would have thought so! At least it's under warranty though and I get to rack up a few thousand miles in someone elses car!
  8. Hello All, Got my octy 1 tdi on halloween, drove it for a week then it cooked itself!!! Currently back at the garage I had it from having new pump, head gasket, timing belt and tensioner and the head skimmed! Look on the bright side - I had it booked in for a cam belt change - that's saved me £300! Downside? - A gutless 1.2 and on it's last legs Clio courtesy car! And i've been stuck with it for over a week!:thumbdwn: Anything I should look out for when I pick it up? Thanks Tim
