  1. I got mine just before my 19th b-day. you can never be too young :-)
  2. Around Settle in North Yorkshire, I have seen a Golf Gti with tinted windows, from the back you could never tell (cant see the little blue flashing lights on the parcel) until you overtake it, too late then. :-(
  3. got my vrs when i was 19, now 20 and still love it, i am suprised that i don't get pulled over by the police. i also get the taxi jokes but they have slower cars than me, so im the winner overall.
  4. mine once said 0 miles left and the tank took 59.6 liters, strange since it is only a 55 liter tank. also i have noticed thant once the pump has "clicked" off you can put another 5 liters of fuel in. takes a good 5 min but eventually you can brim the tank. Anyone else noticed this?
  5. 13,000 miles in 3 months, i should stop driving so much, car will be worth nothing in 3 years. :thumbdwn:
  6. thanks for that info. i am going to try this somtime soon, will let everyone know the outcome.
  7. hello, i had a skoda towball fitted (removable one) last week to my car (2.0 tfsi vrs), very pleased with it, especially the little features like telling me that a certian bulb was not working, disabling the parking sensors and the alarm going off if electrics unpluged. Car is very good at towing as brought a 5 ft underground concrete manhole back on trailer and no problems whatsoever even with my diverter valve gone. just a quick question tho, i noticed that the trailer is very very close to the bumper especialy when turing. i am concerned about this as i will be towing a caravan with the car that has one of theose alko lock down things and i know that they are quite bulky. worried that it may hit the bumper when turning. Has anyone experienced any problems with the trailer/caravan hitting the bumper?:( Many Thanks.
  8. apart from diverter valve you should be fine from what i know, mine has just gone 7k after remap, it is a pain, the car becomes so slow. got to wait until thurs to fix it.
  9. done a few hundred miles now since service, i am becomming more to the idea of the diverter valve failure as the car seems to slowly getting slower, it is normal upto about 2500rpm but then normally i would get a massive lump of power (this normaly when wheels start to spin if wet) it just does not come as if the turbo was not their. i just find it wierd that this happened after the servie and not before unless the remap has gone/but back to standard aswell at the same time. driving down to jkm next thurs so should find out then, call and get some bp102 on the way home, that will make a driffence:thumbup:
  10. just been for quick drive and seems quick still just not quite as quick as it was, i think it could be the diverter valve with a slight split as i can here a high pitch whistle thats not normaly their. i haven't got a clue nor am i mechanicaly minded, will try call down to jkm as soon as i can, only problem is it is a 5 hour drive from blackpool. i will e-mail them aswell. many thanks anyway any more ideas please let me know.
  11. just looked on invoice and only 4 things, 1=labour charge, 2=oil filter, 3=sump plug 4=oil itself.
  12. thanks, the car feels just as quick it's just that it would not loose grip when it normaly would, im going down to jkm in a few weeks so i will see what they say. i told the dealer (simpsons, preston) that i had a remmap and they where fine with it as they have sold a couple that they have remmaped themselves. it may be in my head. don't think so though.
  13. hello, my car had it's first service today (2.0 tfsi vrs), allong with a removal towball fitted. got a few questions, 1, can the dealers do anything to the car towards the remap as on way home the car would normally loose traction in second gear if i put my foot down & it was raining, but it did not. just wondering if skoda have done anything (my thoughts below) - altered traction control for towing settings, - be because car had oil change or new oil filter. - or even the diverter valve has failed as they had it as had remap about 6k ago (too much of coincidence, i think) 2, a few thousand miles ago the oil cap extender bit from engne to top of engine cover came off, i put the oil cap back straight onto engine, they said today that car is fine and works just as good, but!, to sort it out they need to order a new rocker cover, do you think i should have this done as the car is fine and don't want to start changeing things (don't fix it if it aint broke) help please!
  14. 10k since 31st of jan 2008, need to stop going places i think.
  15. think i will be coming as it sounds fun. will look into campsites or b&b, do i need to redgistrer my name on any list of some sorts. looking forward to it. all depends if jkm will it my diverter valve the next day, waiting for a e-mail reply of them.
  16. hi, i may call along (silver vrs hatch) would like to see diffrent vrs's and what other owners have done to get ideas. as i may be calling to get a diverter valve fitted the next day from jkm. what exactly will be happening or is it just a meet up? long way from blackpool to 240 miles im guessing.
  17. would use existing one but thought for the price i would prefer to buy a new one then when come to sell the grill it will come with vrs badge
  18. Does anyone know where i can get hold of a VRS badge for the front grill as i have changed my grill to a milotek one and want a badge to go on, don't want to use the one off original grill as will change grill back to standard when i sell the car (many years away). Do skoda sell them???
  19. done 3,700 miles:) from new in 3 weeks and 5 days (26 days), getting about 32mpg on avarage, but went long run to pourtsmouth and got 37mpg (between 70-80). not onw problem yet. loving car & power:D.
  20. i have the new columbus nav and the sound seems to be quite good, i made mine so the left speakers are slightly louder than the right to give a even sound and put more to the back speakers. i must agree that the sound is not the best in the world but i personnaly think that it is because the speakers are at the back of the door and not the front so it muffels the sound because of the speakers beeing next to seats. Good for bass tho.
  21. i have a TFSI and had mine remapped by REVO:thumbup: and the car totaly changes, much more responsive & alot quicker. the guy said that car can go upto 240 bhp with stage one remap but simpsons in preston had a white tfsi with full miltek exhaust and stage two remap and they said it was 285bhp (hard to belive) but i went out in that car and it was very rapid & scary.:eek::eek: traction control light was constantly lit. restricting the massive power.
  22. no, sorry decided to keep the 18" wheels that are on the car, now i have had the car 3 weeks i quite like the look of them and if i don't clean the car they have a darkish look anyway.
  23. will buy new ones, put them on and then sell 18" zenith ones, thought if i was doing it then may as well do it when car is new then get more for the wheels.
  24. iv been looking on e-bay and seen that it is probberbly cheaper to sell original wheels buy another set of 18" (rs4 gunmetal ones) and put on tyres. as been getting quotes of £280 for a set of four whhels to be done properly (tyres off, dipped in acid etc) but can be done for £200 but just as face paint. Hmmmm, what to do?
  25. hi, has anyone sold their 18" zenith wheels, i get my car in a week or so:D and was looking into getting them painted but it is a bit pricy:thumbdwn:. Thought if i sold the wheels when they were new i would be able to get quite a bit for them. then with the money buy some other wheels (black or grey). don't know if to sell them with tyres or not. depends on price. was thinking of either black & chrome RS4 ones, new rs4 18" alloys fit vw and audi models on eBay, also, Wheel Rims, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Jan-08 20:38:48 GMT) or 18" Or24 Alloy wheels tyres VW Passatt Audi A4 Mercedes on eBay, also, Wheels with Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Jan-08 17:14:58 GMT) Really can't make my mind up, or should i fork out the money and get the orginal ones painted. Been getting quotes of £280 for 4 to be done, live in blackpool. Opinions Please, NEED HELP:confused:
