Hello everyone, I am having a lot of bother with the DPF on my 08 diesel vRS Octy, 113k miles. It comes on from time to time but 2 or 3 miles in 2nd or 3rd gear at 3k revs+ and the light goes out. However before Xmas it did not and in it went, faulty sensor apparently. I have done 1300 miles since and it must have come on 6 or 7 times since. I have got it off by the above method but twice I did not only to start the next morning and the light is off. Today I have been driving at high revs trying to get the light off again and failed. The dashboard lights have come on and the turbo has gone to sleep. I was due to go on a long journey tomorrow morning and have had to cancel, very annoying. I will on to the dealer at 0800 tomorrow to sort it out. Any ideas anyone? Ordered new Superb last week, may be the Octy knows!

Hi, the warning light for the dpf has been coming on intermittently (every second day)on my 27k Vrs diesel. What is it and where is it? Also the engine management light has been doing likewise. Could the two be linked? Fuel consumption has increased by 10% from 47/8 to 40/1. Thanks.

Hi, previous thread vapourised, apologies if it appears again. When is the first service due on a Vrs 2.0 diesel? Book says 15k kms, comp saying another 5k miles, it has done almost 14k since new, all by me, easy motorway miles. Has to put in a litre of oil a week past Monday at about 12k. Thanks.

Pardon my ignorance but when is the first service on a diesel due? I have checked the book and there is no mention of a 1000/1500 mile job. Is this how it is these days with bench run ins and synthetic oil? Thanks.

Hi, I was looking at one before Xmas and the dual zone/jumbo box/alloys upgrade was available until the end of 07 I was told. As far as I am aware it is still on. I ordered the week before Xmas and it turned up March 8. So far, so good about 48mpg on a new engine and plenty mid range acceleration. Regards.

Hi all, I have had my vrs diesel for about a month now, all very well. I can't quite work out what the difference is when the econ button is lit up and the auto is lit up. It seems strange they can be lit up together. Also when it is on auto and I change the fan speed, the auto light goes out. I have yet to find a setting that gives me an icy blast not that I have needed it too much so far. Any info in layman's terms would be appreciated. Many thanks. PS I have read the book - several times!

My VRS estate arrived yesterday - very nice. Blue, thought it may be too loud but it is spot on. Not common round these parts (East Lothian)

Is it possible to have heated scooshers on an Octavia? I have upped the conc on the fluid but it has been a cold week with a dirty windscreen.

Hi, amazingly enough that is 2/3 of what I have been looking at this week. Based on full maintenance 25k miles pa and over 36 months with £560 of extras the vRS was £370 per month and the L&K was £394. This was thru Skoda finance, HSBC was almost £1000 more over 3 years. Regards.
