Pedal went halfway and then eventually went to floor, wouldn't go into gears unless I rev matched. My local indy has it now and says the fluid is leaking out the box. It's definitely that but I need a clutch while it's open as if it's contaminated it has to be changed too. My problem is I'm struggling to find what one I need. I know it's an 02Q gearbox, engine CCZA but there's several code variations but it looks like it's similar for SEAT, VW, Audi, etc. Don't know if I could just get a clutch disk and get away with it.

Hi, My slave cylinder went on the weekend and while it could be just this that needs replacing, the garage has advised to getting a clutch just in case it's contaminated. My car is running a Shark Stage 2 tune and had a Sachs Performance clutch and slave fitted at the time by the last owner. I'm having trouble finding the exact one I need. Are all Mk2 Octavia vRS gearboxes the same? I've seen 02Q mentioned but I can't check as my car isn't home. I have seen it's possible to buy the clutch plate separately so surely this should be all I need? Regards Martyn

Thanks for this. Plenty to think about. All the tuning was done before I owned it by Shark. It's run really well the last 2 years or so and was tempted to change as a precaution. But then if it's running fine I should leave it and buy them to have to hand just in case

Bilstein and Eibachs should have been stock IMO. I put them on mine and they made a massive difference. The faster you go the better they get

Dropping someone home and I select Reverse and as I lift the clutch there's a clunk and it stalls. The pedal goes right to the floor. Guess it's this as a Google have a few cases of it. Is it an easy enough job to get done by an Indy? How much would it cost to do? My only issue is I'm in mid Wales so don't know anybody really. Getting a tow back to Swansea would be costly.

Turbo to centre box was done with a sports cat with the last owner and I have no idea why he just didn't do the rest of it. It gets through MOT's fine at the moment as long as it's been warmed up first. The first MOT I did when I first got it I did in a local place and it needed an extended emissions test to pass. I think this was more down to me not getting it up to temp first as it was next to work. The next MOT was with Skoda and flew through and the emissions were quite a bit better than the first time. I could delete the cat but friendly MOT men are getting rarer. Next MOT is with Skoda as it coincides with other bits I need doing and I'm home them so it's convenient.

Looking at getting the cat back done as the stock bits are starting to fail. Done well for almost 8 years and 80k. Does anyone know where is cheapest to get it? I have 282bhp and while yeah I can spin the wheels in 4th in the wet, with proper throttle control it's not an issue. I run with traction control off too as with the extra power it wanted to cut in more but since then I've learned to discipline my right foot when making progress. You do that and these cars are incredibly capable

Blimey this was nearly 2 years ago! And it was only supposed to be a stop gap car! No changes really. Now on 80k, got serviced today. The centre box pipe that attaches to the rear box is starting to fail so it's time for it's Milltek as a Skoda one is stupid money and has no benefits. Means it will be finally Milltek all the way through. Anyone know where's cheapest to get a Milltek catback? not bothered if it's resonated or not. Eats a set of Michelin PS4's on the front every 8-10k and due another set soon, mpg still good for the performance. It's desperate for a deep clean and valet inside but living away from home and work being busy it's been a while. It's better than leaving the local foreign car wash do it and I'd rather do it when I have a day or two to do it properly. As an all around package it's still great and the day I change it for something newer that has similar performance it will cost a small fortune. It's definitely worth more to me that the pittance I'm seeing some go up for sale for. Must be heartbreaking to those who've put so much time and effort into theirs. May just keep it until it costs too much to keep going. Next car I have no idea. Think I've learned all I can about FWD without an LSD at least so next I'm thinking RWD (86 with some mods, M235i) or 4WD (Golf R)

Used to work for a small rugby shop, selling rugby stuff and fitness brands. We were one of the first to start selling Under Armour stuff and it was really good, sold strongly in store, on the site and on eBay and Amazon. Until one day the Amazon and eBay sales stopped almost dead. Amazon now started selling Under Armour themselves. So we dropped price a bit but then so did they. As a test I dropped something to cost price and they still dropped further. They basically drop it to the point that they lose but you can make either so you stop selling it. A great way for them to trend what sells and when by letting other mugs risk it first. They saw the sales so they took them. This was about 4 years ago and the rugby shop isn't there anymore. Amazon didn't help them but they would have gone under eventually anyway as they couldn't react fast enough, nor compete on price. High St rates are disgusting so it was a matter of time. I still shop Amazon and have Prime so can get stuff next day for no extra but I've noticed prices creeping up and other places online being cheaper. I do try and give my sale to the little guy where I can.

Sorry to hear this. Never met him but he was always helpful and in the early days we'd chat via DM about things, reading back now they were quite funny. He'll be missed

Had no issues with mine and mine are several years old now. All I've done is replace the ear covers as they were getting a bit dirty. No lip sync issues but if the volume is at maximum on the headphones and there's no noise at parts of what your watching or listening to you hear the headphones drop signal slightly to save on battery presumably which can get annoying. All you do is turn the headphones down a bit then the source up. Changed batteries as they'd been in so long as a precaution and they were still lasting 15+ hours on a charge.

Still learning my camera and wanted to start doing some astrophotography so when I was back home I went down Oxwich with my old man, a beach on Gower. He has his bino's and it's amazing how much you see with just them. Wasn't concerned at this point of making an interesting photo, more working out how my intervalometer worked, what ISO I needed and how long to keep the shutter open. You can just make out the Milky Way These ones are down Usk Reservoir but I was still early, Sun hadn't long gone down, hence it seeming more blue. Need to go back up there once weather improves

Everyone focuses on that one engine failure Lewis had as the key to losing it. But these people forget how many bad starts Lewis had this year. You could argue if he hadn't then he would have made the 5 point deficit that way instead. When you look at it he's given away quite a few opportunities by coming 3rd a few times, a 7th, a 5th. Surely these are just as much of a reason for him not winning it this year as much as one engine failure. The driver who scored the most points won the championship, he did and I'm happy he did and I'm happy he went out on top, Easy to say he's running away but his goal was to match his dad which he's done. He had a nice family life to get to, millions in the bank, why would he still race in F1? Takes courage to walk away and respectful to Mercedes to do it early so they have chance to get someone else. This is coming from someone who is a Lewis fan, went to Suzuka, bought the T-Shirt, saw him win there last year. He really needs to have a look at himself if he wants to win a title again. Next year will be harder, more competitive and while he did start improving towards the end and his focus went up it was too late. Needs to carry that into next year. I could also see Bottas who Wolff and Hakkinen manage and he's familiar with Merc engines (imagine the conspiracy theories then!), they do a deal with Williams to take on Wehrlein and a bit of discount on engines. Forget Vettel and the Fernando as those are quite locked in unless money was exchanged and I don't think Mercedes would think it's cost effective. The only one who must be feeling sick is Hulkenburg. Jumps ship to Renault at the wrong time. But who knows it could be a great move. Apparently Lauda has already try to get him off Renault and they've told him no.

Sums up my thoughts perfectly. Loads trying to take the moral high ground but if it was me I'd do the same and if I was Nico and it had got even tighter at the end I'd have even thought about misjudging a braking point and causing a double DNF. The majority of WDC are barstewards and you have to be a bit selfish to win. There are very few nice guy champions. I'm always amazed people have a go at Hamilton for not liking things when they don't go his way. He's human as we all are and I'd think there was something wrong if any driver didn't react. Vettel does it, Alonso does it and both of them are former champions. Most of us would be just as down as him when he's as low points. I'd say today he was pretty professional and the backing up is racing tactics. Racing isn't always fair and tactfully going faster in the overtake spots added to the drama. Lorenzo tried doing that before in MotoGP, it didn't work out and Marquez won but it was worth a go.

Lots of the kit we buy in work has gone up in price, capex requests needing to be recalculated as things have gone up by quite a bit. Everything has gone up. I also know lots of businesses are struggling with getting the usual seasonal agency workers as most are from Europe and since there no certainty of what happens when Brexit really kicks off they aren't staying. So locals can do the jobs now? Fat chance of that when most are bone idle around here and collecting dole is easier for them. But it's OK we've got our country back innit...

I'm just happy Max is trying things and is exciting. He is only 19 so is learning and like most teenagers will push limits until someone says it's not OK. I have no issue with how he's driving and don't get the constant bashing. People say F1 is getting boring (actually only two people winning WRC titles in 13 years is boring) but the second someone like Max cones in who is fresh and wants to push, people are calling for the FIA to stamp all over it. No different to other drivers over the years. Grosjean was really agressive in his early years and got a race ban for Spa. So did Hakkinen for being a bit like Maldonado in his first few years but now is seen as a legend of the sport and a worthy two time champion Could it be that some of the established drivers aren't keen on him because he will be a genuine title contender in a few years? Hoping the Brawn rumour is true. There's a lot worse we could have and at least it's someone who understands the cars,how they work and the F1 system. There's a few due to go soon, Herbie Blash I think is going this year and Charlie can't have long left.

Not even Nico had issue with it. Nico has this title anyway. At most they could have given him 5 secs because that's what Kyvat and others had but would have meant nothing. I'm more annoyed seeing Ferrari International Assistance back. Vettel tells Charlie to Foxtrot Oscar and gets on the podium. This is like swearing at a referee which would be a red card in any other sport and there are rules on bringing the sport into disrepute.

What have other people done? Guessing AP Racing have options but these I'm guessing will be expensive?

Car currently has the Cupra K1 setup but one caliper is sticking slightly so will need a rebuild soon. I've never liked how heavy they are so it's a good opportunity to get something else. What are my options?

The tin hat mob are looking into it too much. Engines blow, that's racing. Hamilton's bad luck has been pretty high this year. When he means "someone doesn't want me to win" isn't him calling the team out. We all have days where nothing goes right and you almost feel you are being held back somehow from doing what you are trying to do. I'm just happy that Ricciardo got the win. Media always looking for the angle and tried to take the shine off it saying it was team orders, favoring him, etc. Nonsense. He was the lead car then they double stacked at the stop. They both had a dabble which was entertaining and Ricciardo won. Rosberg's 10second penalty though was a blatant hit. That was always going to happen. Contact happens in racing but I'm not too sure about that.
