  1. Can anyone advise me if it is still possible to get an update for my sat nav (AMUNDSEN PLUS) and if so, how ? I have seed an SD card on eBay. It says part no.5E0 051 236, but says to check if it will work with your system.
  2. Hi Yeah, my DPF was cleaned by DPF deep clean in Falkirk/Grangemouth area. It was done through Dingbro who are promoting them. The report came back saying it was sucessful. The EGR for my particular engine was £267 +vat and also 4.5 hours fitting time. Its not just the valve that you get, there is the whole cooling unit to. Its licenced as a taxi, but only used for airport trips so its all motorway miles so I woulndt be able to take egr/dpf off
  3. I have since had the software reset to tell the vehicle that a new DPf has been fitted. All the values are perfect, as are the EGR & turbo but the damn thing is regeneration between every 100 & 200 miles. Garage is advising to replace the DPF at a cost of £1300 +vat for the part. Labour cost of 2.5 hours is extra
  4. Here's the problem, I'm hoping someone can advise me. I own a 2012 2.0CR TDI. The car has done 196,000 mile which i would have to say 95% of is motorway miles. Around the time the car had done 150,000 miles, i noticed occasionally smoke from exhaust. It was more noticable when i accelerated but also done it under a slight touch of the accelerator. I also noticed that if this was happening & I came to a standstill the rev counter would sit at 1000rpm instead of the usual 600rpm(approx). A VAG computer confirmed that at the time I was experiencing the revs at 100rpm it was indeed performing a DPF reneration. It didn't however explain why all the smoke was coming from the exhaust. The local independant garage felt the problem was with the DPF and said there was a company who cleaned them for £250 + vat. Feedback was very good so the filter was sent to be cleaned. It came back along with before & after pictures and also data relating to the air flow test it had undergone. The report also said that the weight of the filter was 352g lighter after the cleaning, which i'm assuming would be all the soot that was collecting in the filter. It was refitted & after about 100 miles, the car started regenerating again whith the same smoke ommiting. Before i go any further, i should add that the garage reckon the turbo is fine, with no oil deposits and also the engine is sweet sounding. A few days ago the a warning light (glow plug system) started flashing and the vehicle went into limp mode. when enging was switched off & restarted it had reset & everything was ok. The VAG comfirmed the EGR valve had stuck. 5 miles after leaving garage the glow plug light appeared again, this time along with the engine management light. I returned to garage and a new EGR was ordered. After it was fitted, all faults were cleared and it appeared to be fine. I have now done 400 miles without any problems or smoke from the exhaust...UNTIL THIS MORNING !!! The revs were back at 1000rpm when at a standstill (this does eventually return to normal after regeneration) and smoke appeared from exhaust. I have a few questions here 1. Would anything need changed on the VAG computer after the cleaned DPF was refitted? 2. Is it normal for excessive smoke to come from exhaust when vehicle is regenerating ? Please help as im scunnered & the bills are running at £1000 so far

  10. Hi Guys Can anyone help with the following issue. I have a 1.6 CR TDI. According to the Service Schedule book (page 8), it says, 'in addition every 180,000km to replace the toothed belt on diesel engines TDI CR. I'm getting mixed messages from dealers about this. one told me 40,000 miles another said 60,000 and another said 74,000 Can any one help ?? Tomster
  11. Hi Guys Im getting mixed messages from different dealerships with regards to the timing belt change intervals. I have a 1.6 CR TDI. Looking at the Service Schedule(PAGE 8) book it says to replace toothed belt at 180,000 km. That works out at approx 110,000 miles. One garage has said 42,000 another has said 60,000 and another has said 74,000. Can any one advise on this Thanks
  12. Hi, i have already posted here with regards to my 1.6 cr tdi & driving on a certain road where the car seems to lose power for about 2 seconds. Speaking to a local dealer today, the technician thinks it may be something to do with tetra mast in the area. I'm aware there are 7 masts altogether in the area in question all within a 2 mile radius of where i'm having the problems. This flat spot doen't happen anywhere else, but there must be tetra masts everywhere so why wouldn't it happen wherever there was a mast present ? Can anyone ofeer any help ??
  13. Yes it does, but when problem occurs, the yellow skid symbol on the dash does not come on, so i wouldn't think thats the problem
  14. Here's my problem !! This is a weird one by the way, because it only happens on a certain road that i drive on every day, so before anyone wants to answer with '' DON'T DRIVE ON THAT ROAD'', thats not an option for me. When i come over a sharp hill (like a hump back bridge) type road , i lose all acceleration for about 3 seconds then it sorts it's self out but may lose it again whlie going downhill. The only thing i can liken it to would be what you would get if there was no fuel left. This happens every time at the same spot. It make no difference whether there's 1/4 tank or full. It went into dealer who couldn't find a fault when hooked up to the computer. They changed the ful filter housing, saying it could be drawing air, but this has not made any difference at all. Dealer is 40 miles away & will not test drive car that far away !! Any suggestions

  21. Good Afternoon All I have a 2009 Octavia 'S' which i use as a Taxi Currently the taxi meter is sitting on top of dash with double sided tape. I would like to do the following :- Buy an aftermarket stereo & have both the meter & stereo housed within the existing space. The meter is the same size as a car stereo. Can anyone advise me on the following. Is there a facia panel which will allow me to install both of them there. I have seen double din adapter plates & also single din ones . The single one appears to have a tray at the bottom which i think may be able to be removed to allow 2 things to be fitted !! Also can anyone advise if there is already wireing looms at the rear doors. I know there is no speakers..I'd also be obiged if anyone could tell me what size of speakers would fit in the rear doors
