  1. I am on my third car purchased from Farmers Skoda in Leicester. I can not fault them in any way from the sales team (thanks Mike). Accident repairs and servicing was all done to a high standard. Currently waiting for the management system to show first service on the latest addition Octavia VRS which I will be taking back to Famers to be serviced
  2. Received mine well packed and in good condition. When we started to fit the bracket it was found that the securing nuts were on the wrongside. A quick phone call to the compmany and another one was dispatched. I had to pack the bracket to protect the FMIC pipe but I will modify this next week. 3 of the holes on the plate did not line up but again I will re drill / file out the holes when I do the bracket. Apart from the above I am still very pleased, it is a a nice piece of equitment. Thanks for all your help Josh, you done a great job.

  5. If she went through on amber then she could have triggered the sensors. Yes you can ask for photos which the police have to supply you with. What if the vehicle was on a clonned plate or different make and model which passed over the sensors. Confirm it was your vehicle before paying fine. I have to add red light cameras are justified. Best of luck but I believe you are on a sticky wicket with this one.

  11. It should be a write off, as the main harness (electrics) has been submerged. This would have to be replaced and would not be cost effected to repair.

Can not fault shows speed, warning camera, range, compass heading ,rescue me (shows your position in an emergency), satellite status, time, date and trip control. It has saved my licence on a number of occasions especially in Nottingham and Nothampton. It is hard wired in and cost at the time for the radar and Micro
  13. Just to ex-spand on DR Zoidberg reply; "No person shall be convicted of an offence of speeding contrary to s89 solely on evidence of one witnessto that effect that, in the opinion of the witness, the person prosecuted was driving the vehicle at a speed exceeding the specified limit. The subsection requires corroborative evidence; it does not require that their must necessary be more than one witness. Although, thechnically, there is no reason whyan offender should not be convicted on the evidence of two witnesses, where one corroborates the other by stating in his opinion the vehicle was for example, exceeding a limit of 30 mph, the courts would generally not be satisfied with two such opinions unless the speed was estimated to be far in excess of the limit imposed. Corroboration is therefore usually provided by some mechanical device, which is read by an operator who may then give evidence of its reading. These readings will provide corroboration of the operator's opinion of the speed of the vehicle in question. Corrobopration of speed may be obtained by use of stop watches to assess speeds over ta measured distance, but this is usally provided by a speedometer, radar speed meter or vascar. Where a speedometer is used, it is important to estlibish that the police vehicle containing the speedometer maintained an even distance from the vehicle being checked as this is relevant to the issue of speed In incidents where two police officers are involved in detecting speding offences, they may keep one record of the transaction provided that both check and acknowledge the accuracy of that record at the time. This frequently occurs where one officer is engaged in checking the speed of the vehicle, whilst another stops and deals with the offending driver." The above quote was taken from the Butterworths Police Law Basically if one police officer has no equipment to detect speed on board its your word against him. I have been told, someone who was done for speeding in a 30mph limit because the police office carried out a running commentary on his radio, pasing known markers giving his speed reading and the offening driver was sucessfully convicted at court. This was by a basic standard driver. I believe that the police can only do you for speeding after following you for 2/10 of a mile. Sorry its long winded but hope it is of some help.

  17. Was there 2 x 40mph signs one on each side of the road, if not the camera unit are in breech of regulations. Re check the size of the cameras signs as they are now regulated. I believe 2 x servicing poice officers got off at Court when they challenged the size, last year. If the 30mph signs were missing from the direction you were caught, you have won your case. Re-check your route again and confirm. The best defence is to video the road section. One minus point you may have to go back miles to the 30mph sign. If no repeater signs you may lose and be awarded the points. Cheers
  18. It took about 1hr to complete. But I had to wait about 3 weeks for the seat belt to arrive.
