  1. Hi Fellow Roomsters, Here in West Cornwall Roomsters are popular, can see 3 or 4 Roomsters each time we are out and about. Can't say that about Ford C Max or other MPV's. Helping to find your car in the supermarket carpark reminds of when my nearest and dearest visited the local Lidl's supermarket about 12 months ago. I got a mobile call from her saying the remote would not open the car, which really puzzled me as it was fine when she left home, even had a chat with the supermarket manager who confirmed that the car would not open. Left them to try and sort the situation before departing to the supermarket, but about 5 mins later received another call from the manager who said that all was sorted and that my wife would explain when she gets home. Apparently there was an identical Roomster (Ocean Blue Metallic) about 5 cars away from our Roomster, which only became apparent when the actual owner arrived at their Roomster and opened it. Wifey notices colours but not numberplates. Safe driving everyone, Eddie
  2. Hi Pete Just a further question, did you use the relay (supplied with horn) or is the existing horn fuse ok for the load? Thanks Eddie
  3. Hi Pete, Many thanks for that, great news. Looks as if i've got the location and horn sorted, all it needs now is for me to get it fitted. Will try Just Kampers as recommended. Thanks again Eddie (from a wet and windy Cornwall)
  4. Hi folks, Looking at replacing the existing "peep peep" horn fitted to our Roomy with a Stebel Compact Air Horn. Understand that the existing horn is behind the nearside front bumper grill. Anybody made this change or an alternative? Eddie
  5. Hi fellow Roomsters, :wonder: I have had this same problem for a number of months. With our Roomy (which has front electric windows only) we are now nervous to open the driver side window at all, as some times it will stick in the open position (which at this time of the year is no joke) and despite repeated switching of and restarting it does not close or it will stutter a few times then stops again. With the upate/software issue that Lemon Vrs refers, is that for the new 1.6 Roomster only or does it refer to all Roomsters. With regard to replacing a window electronic control unit, would appreciate if one of our knowledgable members could confirm what is actually required for replacement (with possibly a part no/s.) and what is involved in the replacement (or if its a wiring loom issue does it need to be taken into a Skoda garage). Eddie
  6. Don't get much of the road rage down in Cornwall (but its increasing). But a few weeks ago returning to Cornwall from North London, happened upon a lady in a Honda Civic on the M4 who was lazing along at about 65mph in the middle lane, but when I overtook her it seemed to ignite the blue touch paper and she shot passed only to return to the middle lane and slow down. Me thinks come on me'ansome I've got to get back home to Cornwall and can't be fiddling with this so overtook again. At this she got really heated up and went down the outside lane at about 85mph. I eventually caught her up again a mile or so down the motorway and proceeded to give the Roomster a bit of boot and left her behind. Didn't see her again. Strange behaviour. I would have thought that the Skoda badge thing had long since died. Perhaps it the badge together with the Roomsters looks? Whatever I think its a brilliant vehicle and I dont miss my previous Vrs one bit. Keep well pals, Eddie
  7. Thanks Sarah, will keep that in mind, but hopefully may be crossing the Tamar in the not too distant future, so may be able to visit then. Cheers, Eddie
  8. Thanks for the pics Tony , the RARB looks top quality, all I have to do now is get myself up to Manchester or alternatively could try to install myself. After the Vrs I am enjoying the room/practicality/comfort of the Roomster and have to say am impressed with its handling considering its size, so would follow your advice and fit the 25mm bar so as to not make the rear too hard. Cheers, Eddie
  9. Hi Sarah Do you (or Tony) have any installation pics for the RARB. Cheers, Eddie
  10. Thanks all for the kind welcome into the Roomster fold. Just returned from B&Q with two 6' x 3' trellis panels (for wifey's favourite rose). Wouldn't have got those into the Fabia. As I said, practicality reigns - but its still a nice drive and enjoying the experience. Cheers, Eddie
  11. Hi Folks Well i've done it, traded in my 56 Fabia Vrs for 07 Roomster 2 1.9 Tdi (Metallic Ocean Blue). Never thought in a million years that I would change but practically reigns. Drove back from the dealers in Oxford to Cornwall last week and found the Roomster very comfortable/economical and of course journey time is effectively the same. This is the third Skoda after a 1.9 Tdi Fabia (2000) and the Vrs. Very happy with the Roomster with its space and practicality especially as I now have the internal bike rack - what a boon, no more roof racks. I want to keep the Roomster standard but think I will fit the RARB as this seems to a "must do" mod as for the Vrs. Awesome GTI - do you fancy a weekend in Cornwall!!!! Now where's all that camping equipment, bikes, kitchen sink ................ Eddie
  12. There right little bleeders to fit. Only way I refitted mine was to cut one of the ears off the side of the clip, then carefully slide/push in. A pity they did not engineer them better to make for ease of removal/fitting. Eddie.
  13. Sounds great. Going to try and make the journey up from Cornwall - better check the diary. Eddie
  14. Eddie - 65 - Silver VRS (to match the hair - whats left). Oldest so far but would expect other older greying F1 pilots are out there. Cheers
