  1. Check the tread title dude.. Thanks guys, will price an S2000 one. Dan.
  2. OK, so i finally got the stocky off after much pulling and heaving.. Next question is putting the new stubby on, it appears that the thread length is too short? I have tried to lenghten it by unscrewing it a little with an allen key, but can't get it to budge. Anyone managed to successfully fit this? If not, its going back.. Cheers lads. Dan.
  3. Not as bad as the States mate, they have to make to with 87RON  We have 91, 95 and 98 RON readily available, with some places also stocking 100RON race fuel. Also E20 (ethanol/petrol mix ) and B20 (Biodiesel/diesel mix) LPG at all service stations.
  4. Another OZ vRS memeber here. Standard is 18's with 225/40R18 Conti's or Exaltos. Putting 91 ron in is a no no.. warranty issues also may prevail. Dan.
  5. Update: General consensus is that estate/hatch are the same, and are identical to Golf GTi items. Just need to check if using 50mm or 55mm dia struts. However.. After visiting my local stealer, the part number for the Estate rear shock is unique - i.e. it is not common to any other VAG part, unlike the front which came up the same as Golf/Eos. RS Hatch etc. Also still no formal word from Koni or partners that it is the same/available. I think the conclusion is that the part is available from Koni/partners, it will work, and it will fit, its just not 'officially' correct. When funds arise I will be making the change to FSD's.
  6. The rubber is the issue mate, I wouldn't put them on a Di****su , let alone an RS.. Get some decent rubber and I think 90% of it will go away. After that maybe some better shocks if its still an issue. Some to look at would be Michy PE2's, Conti SportContact 2's , Kumo Ecsta's etc.. EDIT: Good thread here with some decent tyre suggestions: http://briskoda.net/forums/octavia-ii/what-tyres-octy-vrs/107894/ Good write up tho, very encouraging. Dan.
  7. SO hard to resist... Can dogs be sold on ebay? On a serious note, great to hear - any plans on a dyno? Be interested to hear real worl economy too when you have some time. Cheers. (off to rob bank)
  8. Great. So basically we can buy to suit a Golf GTi. The reason I ask is that there are lots of GTi's here, but sod all Octavia RS's (OZ). Cheers mate, oh, and I take it you where impressed by the FSD/Eibach combo then
  9. As per topic, having a bit of trouble confirming if the shocks are the same on the sedan/estate - particulary the rears. This stems from looking into FSD's for my RS, but Koni can't confirm yet on rears. If they are the same as the sedan, it means the whole set is identical to the Golf V GTi, which obviously makes things easier - and cheaper.. So, has anyone got these on an ESTATE? Cheers Dan. PS: Email sent to stealer and Koni for part numbers, no word as yet.. stay tooned..
  10. Has anyone fitted this combo to an Estate? Koni seem reluctant to confirm that sedan/estate are the same shocks. Anyone been there, done that? So tempting, so little spare cash.. :(
  11. Next question which may be a bit more challenging - what are the code changes for each respective change? or, where can I look to find these out? The dealer appears to not no what to change, but is willing to do it if the info is supplied. Anybody? (be a good sticky! ) Cheers all.. Dan
  12. Great guys, I will inform the dealer that it is all possible. (bar mirror) I assume it must be that the tech dosen't know the codes then, not that it is not possible. Many thanks. (sorry Tomo , bit short on cash atm, have got a really long extension lead tho ) Dan
  13. Can anyone clarify if the following settings are able to be changed at your Skoda dealer: - Key fobs changed to unlock all doors on the 1st press - Doors to lock automatically over 25kph - Disable automatic rear wiper activation on selecting reverse - Activate dipping or passenger side wing mirror on selecting reverse (may not be possible in OZ?) - Is it possible to disable the warning chime when your seatbelt is off? (keeping warning light) Im in Oz by the way, but assume it should be similar in the UK. Would also appreciate peoples feedback that have done this, and how. At the moment I have been told that all but the key fob change are not possible. Cheers Dan. 2.0TFSi vRS MY07
  14. Nice work guys Can we clarify if a Golf V GTi or Audi S3 MFSW will go on ok then? I would really like a MFSW again (miss it in the old Golf) but the Elegance 4 spoke is a bit bland - hence looking at GTi or similar. Cheers Dan
