Ha and i thought mine was bad! With huge bearing play and half of 2 impellors gone! good effort. -
Same but it will be a long trip from essex lol.

Dare i ask the dreaded question of insurance... what sort of impact does this have? Guess you cant prove the BHP gain without RR's so would it be under a similar category to exhaust/suspension/intercooler 8-). Im sure it wont. But would be interesting to see if people have declared it.

Sorry to raise the old thread (didnt want to post in the new one)... Can these meth injection systems be used with non hybrids? Also i cant find kits specific for the skoda/ibiza... only golfs or audis? Gains seem to be good... Wonder if the Garrett or KKK could cope with a certain level of this from standard? With or Without a map. (guess the clutch would still be an issue). This system would aid the standard SMIC to no end surely?

Reccommended upgrades complimentary to a remap

Green filter is most commonly used i would say. Badger 5 sells them, not to mention a load of other places. P-Torque maps seem to come off the dyno at about 180-185bhp... I would sugguest replacing the filter and getting the pd160 intake (as sugguested above) maybe the exhaust to (every little helps). Then id look at the handling to be honest, rear anti roll bar's are life savers. maybe rear 20mm spacers to. if you could afford to go all out i would get the car on some decent suspension. My cars main downfall is the handling, you cant get the most out of the throttle with the standard suspension ha! If you want to maintain good power throughout the year and you want to spend some more money a front mounted intercooler is a good idea. the side mounted ones from standard suffer from heatsoak . -
Id recommend P-Torque, Excellent Maps, Affordable Pricing, Great after service.
-
Dont forget the clutch (: it wont last. Might be lucky enough for it to last the mapping lol.

I dont run a hybrid but you WILL need a remap, pointless otherwise. The turbo will be producing a higher boost which the standard SMIC probably wont cope with. You will need a FMIC for a hybrid if you dont have one already. I replaced my KKK with a non hybrid garrett and it popped all the lower boost pipes off one by one. I had to get them fixed in place perminently until i can afford to go after market. the standard pipework is very expensive to replace.

They come complete as one unit. All i had to do was rotate the housing for the intercooler hoses. Really simple.

GT1749VA & GT1749VB The VA is the PD130 and VB is the PD150. So far as my memory persists! Im running the VA on my ibiza as my KKK was shot. VB is better for hybrid treatment. (these are bolt on bolt off turbo & manifold jobbys).

Im usually in 4th or 5th at 30mph. Pending how im driving. If i want to hit boost or get away quick i will drop it a gear or 2. 3rd gear at 30 is the perfect balance between revs and power i think. But id rather stay off boost and put it in 4th.

Acceleration whistle getting louder. VRS Fabia
bbewekim replied to giandougl's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I have a constant boost leak in my IC pipe coming after the turbo bend, you can definately define whether it is air leak or a whistle. All derv turbos whistle, some more than others. If in doubt get it checked out i guess. If your mechanically minded you could bolt it off yourself and take a quick look. Bit of a pain to do though. -
What tyre pressure would you run?
bbewekim replied to chrisw_vrs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Im running 215/40/16 on the front 30psi. Was running more in my first set of 205/40/16... and they woreout badly due to to being inflated to much even though they looked fine.
