  1. Its very hard to get Blue light Ambulance insurence on any import due to the strict MOT the vericals have to go through to be registed as an Ambulance :(
  2. I did look at these Impreza's and the insurene price mainly went on the age and if the car had a Prodive Performance Pack on it. The Impreza WRX is a group 19 and the WRX STI is a group 20. The differance between a car with the PPP and a car without it did seem to be big. A 02 reg Bug eye 2.0l STI was under £1k cheeper to insure than a 53 reg Blob eye 2.0l with a PPP. So i was thinking of getting an 02 reg Bug eye shape (hoping that a car 7years old that has prob been thashed wont have to many probs) and keep it for a few years then get a newer one with the PPP so i dont get bord with the Impreza straight away Hopfuly that works
  3. Think most people would go for an Impreza over an Evo. I liked the Evo when i had it for the weekend but just like the Impreza more but cant put my finger on why
  4. Did you have any major probs with your Impreza's??
  5. THnaks for the advice but the car must have a min of 4 doors for work. S3 only come with 3 :(
  6. The deal i get with the work car is take there car (Rover 75 or Corsa) and pay nothing (cant use it outside of work hours and has Ambulance wrote all over it). Or buy my own car and get a £4K payrise and 5% of the insurence cost. Have checked about the age and they have no problems with it as the car will be owned by me. As long as i can get Blue light Insurence cover there happy to give me the £4k towards it.
  7. Dont pay road tax :P It will be insured and taxed as a covert Ambulance responce car so its nil tax Which is great reason to get one now so i can use the work tax and insurence and not when im 48 and have to pay for it myself
  8. Had a quick go in a mates one and loved it. Had an Evo7 FQ for a weekend to and like that, but not as much as the Impreza and the Evo's are more $$$ :P
  9. Hi I have always been a big fan of Impreza's. I sold be coming into abit of cash and have been looking at one. I currently have a Fabia vRS and think its a great little car. I do get borred with cars very quickly but fell that i wouldnt get borred with an STI. I was looking at anything newer than 05 plate as i dont normally like to buy anything that is already older than 5 years. Due to my age (24) newer models (06,56,07 plate) are very high on insurence. I have found a 53 plate (thats the blob eye face lift) with the PPP for £8650 and insurence of £2553.69 and a 02 (bug eye) plate without the PPP for £6995 and insurence of £1370.70. I can afford both the 53, and 02 plate cars but will i have any problems with an Imprza this old? Are the relieable? Has anyone on hear had/have one around that age?
  10. Thats well f**king bad  Sorry to hear about that, so glad mine wasnt that bad and knowone hit me
  11. Leon by far. Its all so a much better looking car than the golf
  12. You can still get the kit as my mate has just brought one. Cost him £3k!! Gunna cost him about £1,500 to get it fited and sprayed  But have seen some done and they dont look to bat and cost a lot less than a Ferrari too. His spaying it yellow too think thats a bad idea :thumbdwn:
  13. Bloke done my road has put an RS4 badge on the back of his Smart Car
  14. They said the wishbone bushes need replacing. I explaned they had been replaced a week before. When they checked they hadnt been replaced correctly was there words. Had a left front spring snap is what they said. They put the spin down to ice or desiel. As it wasnt fixed the first time i was only charged £50, but still have a bang when on full lock and its still slightly pulling to the left. The bang is really loud and it sounds like somethings about to snap. Im not great with fixing/repairing cars but that cant be right can it? :(
  15. Tha Fabia vRS is great for B road driving. Its got some great power behind it. I was truley suprised when i took mine for a test driver. I had never owned a diesel before the Fabia and was worried if it would be as fast, fun, and good to drive as my old cars, but its better and the MPG make it an amazing little hothatch. My old cars were: xR2i :(, Clio 182 , Z3m and the Fabia vRS is the best yet!!! Will prob get an Octy when i have kids but for now the Fabia is just right and think it might suit you better too
  16. I'm assuming you drive a 1.0 corsa because of your age/new driver? Have you got insurance quotes on either of these cars under your own name yet? My first new car was a Clio 182. As soon as i picked it up it had probs with the revs to low. Then soon as the warrenty run out 3 years down the line i had so many electrical problems. It seemed as soon as the wrrenty ran out the car fell apart. At least with a octy you know it will be built well and will last. As stated above have you checked insurence as they are both high grouped cars, think they are both group 16 or 17. Have you thought about a Fabia vRS? Its only a group 9 on the insurence. Yeah its only 130bhp and the Clio is 182bhp i have owned both and for me the Fabia vRS wins every time.
  17. Got my Fabia back last night But its still knocking and pulling to the left :weeping: They said it was a wishbone and spings problem which they fixed. I called them this morning as the stearing feels better but its still pulling and they said to get my tracking done now :banghead: Will this ever end?????? I do have to admit out of all the cars i have had (KA, xR2i, Clio 182, Z3m) the Fabia vRS is the best . Would recomend one to anyone thinking of getting one.
  18. It's still not ready yet just got off the phone with them I asked if they have found anything yet and all i got was we will call you when its ready Just hope it doesnt come to much price wise. Christmas sucked it out of me and got my wedding in May so still some spending to do on that. Thanks for all the well wishes Will let you all know what they find as soon as i get the car back
  19. Droped the car off this morning so should find out what the damage is soon to my car and my wallet. Will keep everyone posted and hope no one has the same problem
  20. Hi I have added some posts recently about a knocking i was getting from under both front wheel arches. I was told the problem was my wishbone brushes and had them replaced. After this i was still getting a knocking from the near side and the car was now pulling to the left. I took it back and everything was checked, bearings, wishbone ect but no problem could be found. I was told it was safe to drive and if the knocking got worse to bring it back. The knocking did get worse and on xmas eve i was driving through some country lanes and the car hit a slight bump in the road and draged me into the kurb causeing some alloy and tyre wall damage. Since then i have been driving like a granny.:( Lastnight i was driving home and came onto a national speed limit roundabout the joins onto the a13. i was doing 45mph into a corner when the wheel snaped left again and started to slide into a spine, i tried to correct the spine and there was a loud crack and the car felt like it was going to go over. I decided then to go with the spin that turned me 180 on the roundabout and came to a stop facing on coming traffic! I was very lucky that it was at this time of the year and there wasnt alot of traffic on the road. I will be contacting the gariage on Monday to take the car back in but i dont realy want to drive it untill then. Got bugger all money to fix it now due to xmas and cant trade it in as i still have £6600 left to pay on hp and the car is only worth £4800 in glasses.
  21. That sounds good. Think the mirrors would look ok Chrome abit like a S3
  22. I like the looks of it. The price of used Octy vRS' has fallen alot so im not suprised that a new one is beeing made. Now how about a new Fabia vRS that would be nice. Before 2010 too :P
