  1. Sorry, Im located in the Northeast of England. Stockton on tees. Thanks
  2. Hello and welcome to the sale of my Skoda Octavia VRS The car is a standard 2003 model in Silver metalic and covered 172909 miles ***I must at this point say that unfortunatley the car turns over but will NOT start*** Currently SORN Electric windows all round Airconditioning (needs regasing) Central Locking Electric Mirrors In addition to this the car comes with an extensive service history book and a lot of receipts for work carried out. The cam belt has been done twice based on the miles covered so this shouldnt need doing for a while. In my ownership I have replaced the following: Rear Shock Absorbers Brake discs and pads all round Rear brake line Rear Caliper Front passenger Shock Absorber and hub including wheel bearing Both front wishbones Added an oil catch can Exhaust flexy has been replaced I have been using the car as my daily drive to and form work up until around 6 weeks ago when one morning the car would not start. The car will turn over but that is it. I have the VCDS on my laptop and have scanned the car, the scan has highlighted errors pointing to the ABS system / ECU. I am only assuming that the issues lies with the ABS system ECU perhaps and or the main ECU. I have not looked into the issue further as I have purchased another car and the Octavis has been on the drive ever since. Prior to the car failing she ran very well for a car of this age and has served my family well. The interior is in great condition and everything works. I feel that the car should be on the road as there is still life left in the old girl. Someone with the time and knowledge could easily get the car back on the road. She just needs some care and attention. I am asking £650 ono for the car I would be more than happy to answer anyones questions and provide more photographs if required. The car would need to be either towed or put on a trailer. Many thanks for looking.
  3. Many thanks for your help, Mich appreciated. I will crack on looking at the earths, relay and the ABS module. I guess it's a case of fault finding ruling certain things out. I was also thinking of checking the usual things like is it getting fuel, spark etc so that this can be ruled out. It is so frustrating not knowing what to do! Thanks again
  4. Hello and many thanks for your assistance. All fuses on top of the battery and fuse box inside the car are ok with no signs of melting or overheating. Based on what you say then , if the ABS pump is goosed the engine may not start? Thanks
  5. Hello everybody, I am in need of some depserate help if at all possible. I have a 2003 Ocy VRS Mk1 in silver, however the other day it would not start for work. I managed to get a lift to work and returned that evening to try to start the car. The car did manage to fire up, however as I turned the ignition on I could hear a relay clicking quite violently underneathe the dash just beofre she fired up. The following day the same happened again, where the car is just turning over and not firing and has not ran since. I have VCDS lite, so ran a diagnostic check and the following issue popped up. Something i shold mention, prior to this happening i have had the ASR light coming on intemittently and during braking the ABS has been cutting in at low breaking speeds........ I know it mentions "ABS" below, however would the engine not start due to a braking issue??? Have checked the usual fuses, ECU plug connectors etc, however I am a little stumped Can anyone help? 6. Hello All, Just a quick note to introduce myself. I have been an avid Skoda fan for a while know and currently own a Mk1 Octavia VRS 2003 in Silver. I recently sold my Mk2 Octavia VRS with the intention of replacving it with something a bit more sensible, however this was not to be! i eventually found the Mk1 after a lot of hunting and missed e-bay auctions, i wanted a bit of a project and something that could do with some TLC. She has covered 160 thousand miles with a full and comprehensive service history and has generally been well maintained. In all honesty she is a much better drive than my Mk2, has a lot more driver feedback that i think is very important. i will no doubt be asking some questions in the future. Thanks everybody Regards John.
