  1. HI,can anybody advise me on what to call/name of this plastic insert where on my fabia 1.4 clasic w reg has no fog lights but this plastic grill is fitted im on the look out for one if anybody can recommend a good supplier.
  2. Same problem i had last year-Easy fix take of door cards and seal up around gasket on door skin cost me £5 for bathroom sealent clear type.No water leaks since:)

Hi,it could possible be the battery if u are only doing short journeys-but if the engine and power steering light are comeing on the dashboard there may well be a problem with the powersteering.The powersteering pump does draw a lot of amps from the battery on startup,have u checked the powersteering fluid level? this may be low check that first,then the battery,if u can get a fault code reader plugged in this may find the cause of the lights comeing up on the dash.Hope this helps:).
  4. Hi Thanks for the info was not quite sure if it did have a code on the steering pump,anyway my independant garage is doing the job now and at a fair price.
  5. Hi,it was from Court Road Garages- 37 Court Road Industrial est llantarnam Cwmbran.Also there are 2 types of pump for this car mine was the cheapist one the other one is £400.

HI,how about this for a good deal,the powersteering pump off my fabia 1.4 classic reconditioned and then fitted back on for £265+guaranteed for 2 years it pays to go to a decent independant garage, stay clear of main dealers beacause **** turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he robbed you they dont.

  8. Hi if i change the powersteering pump on my 2000 1.4mpi classic does it have to be recoded or anything like that or just swap in and out.

Hi this may be of help to anybody haveing trouble with there power steering.The issues that i had was 1min i had no power steering then 1min the powersteering going light, plus the powersteering symbol lighting up on dash plus now and again could hear wining noise from pump checked the powersteering fluid was ok replaced steering angle sensor but still had a problem with steering ANYWAY i changed the battery and as if by magic all the problems went away and has not yet come back-so just a bit of advice to anybody change the battery first as the pump draws a lot of power from the battery.

Hi Thankyou to everybody who posted advise,My brother plugged in his hand held tester for reading fault codes and it came up with 2 codes they are 17978 control module locked-maybe immobilizer cleared that code run the car all morning school runs etc checked again no code.The other code is 16502 engine coolant temperature-high input low temp-will change thermostat temp sensor £29+vat from skoda Newport.If the power steering does play up again i will change the steering angle sensor i have access to a garage ramp, my brother works there so should make job of fitting it easy Thanks again.
  12. Hi,just had the warning symbol come up on dash the little steering wheel one and the power steering comes and goes. At the moment the steering is ok but for how long who knows!!.I checked the powersteering fluid and it was ok what a pig of a job that was had to remove battery to gain access,if anybody has any ideas regarding this fault please can you Help!!. Hi,i had the same problem,go in the boot and to your right remove the carpet near the fuel filler they are clipped on so you can remove/refit you will see the cable for the fuel cap just push it back in and this should fix it,thats what i did for mine,you can do a permant fix by tapeing it up/zip tie.
  14. Hi thanks to everybody regarding coolant loss, it was the seal around the radiator sensor will get it fixed in the next couple of days.
