  1. This car has now sold - missing her terribly already. She was not just a piece of metal. Thank you for looking though!
  2. Selling my RED Fabia VRS. 2005 on 55 plate. Just over 90k miles. These are largely motorway miles. My family live 200 miles away so have traveled every month to see them. Still my daily car so mileage will increase. The car has many good points but also has fair share of bad points. All bad points are detailed and with pics where appropriate. I have had the car since December 2007. Have seriously loved driving the car and she has always brought a pleasant smile to my face but time to move on to an Octavia VRS. I am the second owner, 1 previous male owner before me. £3700 ONO. Good points: Full Skoda Service History with stamps, receipts and invoices Handbooks All previous MOT certificates Service every year at Skoda main dealer MOT until September 2012 Just purchased 6 months road tax Cruise Control No modifications, no remap. VRS car mats in very good condition as I have used my own for the last 4 years. Only modification is a JVC USB stereo. Also have original which will be included in sale. Cambelt changed at 57k New radiator in last few months. 4 good Pirelli P Zero tyres and good full-size spare 2 keys with Skoda tag New front brake discs and pads at 57k Air conditioning still works a treat as always run regularly even through winter months to keep it cold for summer. I have always warmed the glow plugs before starting ignition and always left the car to settle for 30 secs or so when parked before turning off engine – some of my friends always found this odd but I know it’s good to care for diesel engines! Bad points Coolant leak. Has been into 2 Skoda garages so they could look. They replaced the radiator. Still a leak. Happens after long motorway journeys. It looks like the coolant bottle is leaking. Needs a new offside wing mirror. Hit and run driver (bad times!). The bracket is still on car but has been heavily damaged. Currently the car has tape holding it together and a replacement mirror from Halfords. The electric mirrors are now not working. See pics. There is a small scuff on rear bumper. This bump also caused the rear bumper to be pushed out by few mm. See pics. Paint on rear spoiler has faded. See pic. Scuffs on alloys. See pics. When you open driver’s door, there is a scuff on plate. See pics. The rear left speaker is buzzing and cutting out on certain songs. One Skoda wheel nut cover missing. See pic. Advisories from last MOT: Rear discs lipped and pitted on edges Both front, rear lower suspension arm bushes perished and starting to split Offside rear handbrake arm does not fully return Other advisories were regarding tyres and these were replaced. If you are looking for your unmodified Fabia VRS in order to make your own modifications...well.....here she is. With a few of the "bad points" above...these may not be an issue to you if you want to spend money to modify her????
  3. How about meet at Oxford Services at 730-745 am? and wait for the South East convoy from Clackett lane services (m25 - junction 5-6). They are leaving at 630am as seen on South East post: http://briskoda.net/south-east-skoda-meets/south-east-convoy-briskoda-national-day-12th-july/149919/ I know from Junction 10 on the M25 it takes just under an hour on a good run to get to Oxford Services on m40 - so if good journey they should be there about 8am (maybe!)....then it would only be a few more junctions to Gaydon? Thoughts? Jess
  4. They laybys that you mentioned are Junction 9 - just another junction up after Oxford Services. The laybys are another option
  5. Hi All, I have started a convoy link from the South and South East if anyone is interested? http://briskoda.net/south-central-meets/convoy-skoda-rally-12th-july/149848/ Jess
  6. Thought we could set up a convoy on part of the M40 going north from the south and south east to the Rally. Reckon Oxford Services on the M40 could be a good place to meet and start. Its Junction 8A and the Rally is at Junction 12.... I am coming up from Weybridge, Surrey area. Anyone interested?
  7. 2005 Fabia vrs - both rear doors leak and the boot, dealer "apparently" fixed seals a few weeks ago under warranty - going back in again next week to have a look at problem again. Incidently my dad had a VW Bora a few years back with a door leaking problem....
  8. 2005 Fabia VRS - RED. My driver seat squeaks alot!! Whenever I use the clutch - like the sound of a creaky door blowing in the wind. Annoying.....but still love the car!!! Passenger seat not a problem - going into garage next week to get it looked at.
  9. Yes, I had this issue. I bought my 05 Vrs in December and 5 mins driving it off the forecourt I put my CD in. Played it nicely - but pressed eject and it would not let me have it back. However, drove the car the next day and it randomly came out. Have put a JVC stereo in there now - so much better! I have read elsewhere that the standard Fabia stereo "keeps the cd's".
  10. Hello all. Hope all is well. First post on the website. I have traded in my lovely little first car (2001 Fiesta) and have bought a September 2005 Fabia VRS in Red. Very excited. Test drove it 2 weeks ago and instantly loved it. Bought it there and then.
