  1. Though mine was bad! I just posted pics a few seconds ago i nthe BKD manifold thread. All the swirl flaps have disappeared and that brown gunk is water mixing with oil which isn't a good sign....
  2. Advice to you all....Thanks Phil for your update on the BKD. I'm happy now with no more flaps, car feels massively different, aka as it should be. No more juddering and missing boost.... If you see this.... Then replace the manifold asap. I was quite lucky in the grand scheme of things. Next thing to greet you, the intake side of the intake manifold. EGR is equally messed All flaps destroyed, most missing entirely.
  3. Hi Phil, How is the car running now with the BDK manifold? Im contemplating going down that route instead of the expensive oem with flaps route...Interested to hear how your getting on with it, Thanks Mike
  4. Bottom engine mount bolts, remove the cover and they will be visible instantly. My dollars are on that they are loose and only finger tight. Just had mine tightened, I got a knock when starting engine, switching off, moving off in first and moving off in reverse. Easy fix...gotta love them!
  5. Im in Navan...any ideas if anyone around can do it? Don't mind a drive out either!
  6. Thanks Eddie, much appreciated. Anyone in Ireland on here who can do this without going to the dealer? Or anyone with an idea how much the dealer would charge for coding?
  7. I recently moved home to Ireland bringing my Octavia with me, being part of Europe and every sign in km/h I am slowly bringing my thinking around to km/h from mph which im used to all my life. So, half wanting to upgrade to maxidot in the past and now thinking new clocks with km/h as the dominant reading I'm now about to splash out on this set below in the link..(but looks old out of stock for now) From reading through on Briskoda these guys seem reliable? http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=54&menu=%C5%A0koda%7COctavia%20II%28A5%29%7CPanely%20p%C5%99%C3%ADstroj%C5%AF Will these need to be coded to make sure immobiliser and everything else works okay and if so how do I obtain the code etc etc. Also is the link above correct? Thanks in advance Mike
  8. Hi everyone, well leading on from this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/267685-2007-octavia-pd170-brake-switch-help/ I found I needed to do the basic settings to clear the ESP light on the dash. I have now been left in an awfull quandary as my NCT retest is Tuesday afternoon and I cant get the code to clear....HELP! I used Ross techs guide for the blocks and figures settings but keep getting the same results below. Its my first time using VCDS so look carefully as I may have made a schoolboy error!!! So G201 Brake pressure from measuring block 005 gives this result So into basic settings I go...measuring 066 as per Ross tech gives this screen Then clicking on ON/OFF/NEXT gives this screen What do I try next....am desperate to get this retested on Tuesday! Thanks Mike
  9. I would have assumed its the old location, my vRS is a 2007 Combi PD170. I got the switch from local VW dealers as there are no SKoda dealers nearby. They knew the two differing switchs straightaway and it was suggested it was the older style.
  10. So my main man sorted this for me in the end. The switch is held in by one screw, and is better accesible from the bottom. So jack car up with loads of room etc...nimble fingers still needed though. Switch in question Switch and loom once unscrewed from bulkhead Just need to get the codes cleared and hopefully thats that!
  11. Im guessing im the only one then!! Looks like a voyage of discovery of access to the switch so....
